Cons: Ordered a brand new laptop with windows 7, not refurbished. When it arrived and I started it up it had a windows account set up and it was asking me for the password, which I don't know and it didn't say what it was. Have to request a refund, this product is unusable.
Cons: The Bluetooth issues noted in other reviews are accurate. I made multiple attempts to install the proper software to remedy, to no avail. Not only is the wireless pitifully slow, so is essentially every other function of this laptop. Without question my WORST electronic purchase EVER.
Summary: 1. Excellent HP hardware for the price. 2. Subpar McAffe and HP software. ( McAffe is slow junk, MS embedded antivirus is much more agile :-) ) 3. Laptop is really slow with 4G RAM installed. It looks like Integrated graphics takes about 1.5 G of RAM, Win 7 pro x64 about 1G .
Pros: 1. Good Screen. 2. Nice Keyboard , and toachpad. 3. Ubunty 14.04 LTS x64 compartible out of the box, including WIFI and Bluetooth drivers. 4. HP UEFI bios handles dual boot of Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu 14.04 x64. 5. Additinal SODIMM available. Works fine: Crutial 4 Gb 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered...
Cons: 1. Windows 7 . HP - Broadcom drivers download required to make WIFI and bluetooth opertional. ( For comparison: Ubuntu 14.04 x64 works out of the box ) Workaround: use Ethernet jack for Broadcom drivers download from HP web site and initial Win7 patching. 2. HP update software works well to backu...
Summary: Bought It To Replace My Custom Built Desktop That Just Recently Went To That Big Computer In The Sky. Plus The Advantage Of It Being Mobile. Installed 8GB Of Memory So It Now Has 12GB And It Runs Nice & Smooth. Have An SSD On It's Way Plus An Additional 8GB Of Memory. Can't Wait To Install Both.
Pros: It's An HP And The Price.
Cons: Could Use 4GB More Of Memory And A 4th USB Port.
Summary: Just wish HP would pre-install these drivers from the factory. Then we could decently critique this laptop instead of focusing on this ONE thing, which buries other possible issues this laptop (might?) have.
Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE. Yes, I know their customer service reps are all located in India. But, it doesn't take back from the fact you can talk or chat with them 24/7 using the pre-installed "HP Support Assistant." Other than that, the laptop is what it is: a $400 laptop for decent specs.
Cons: NETWORK. What the other reviewers say is true: you MUST download the network drivers for your wi-fi to work. Checking my download speed online, it was approximately 0.5mb/s straight out of the box. I was furious, and was on customer service with HP for hours. The solution that worked was download...
Great for light business use including running a projector
Travis B., Newegg
2 March 2015
Summary: Bought this to use at church for MS Publisher, Powerpoint, and to run a projector for Christian education. It does all of these things well but not a great machine for running multiple programs. Keep the open windows down and it does great.
Pros: Windows 7 Pro, optical drive, light weight for size, decent battery life, clear display, and DVI out for projector
Cons: Size (if you are looking for a small machine this is not for you), plastic construction, and unneeded software factory installed
Pros: HP business notebook at a bargain price. Comes with a Broadcom dual band wireless card with Bluetooth. One 4 GB memory module. Easy to upgrade memory to 8 GB by adding a second 4 GB module. Anti-glare screen. Runs cool, decent battery life.
Excerpt: Would not buy again. I purchased this notebook and had to return the first one. The wirless adapter was not working correctly it only tested at 2-5 mpbs while 2 of my other computers tested at 30 mpbs. They replaced the notebook and I had the same problem. This notebook was also return.
