Summary: The people who refurbished these laptops have no clue what they are doing!!!!!!!!
Cons: the first one I received did NOT have an OS. RMA the first one; second one had multiple system file errors and started chkdsk at every start up. I tried all repair options. SFC /scannow could not repair system files. I tried to restore factory restore and now I must purchase a new OS and do a fresh reinstall. I would look for something else! AND to add insult to injury, it’s a dual core, NOT a tri core!!!!!!
Summary: If you are the kind of person who does not know how or have the time to complete the refurbishment, then you probably should not buy this computer. Spend the extra $$ and get something new. If you are the kind of person who has a couple of laptop hard disks laying around, then you may find this to be an adequate deal. I would not call it a good deal. Flawed at best.
Pros: Good power for the price. Like Windows Professional, rather than home edition. NewEgg, as always, offers what they say and delivers it promptly.
Cons: Refurbisher did not do a very good job. The system runs chkdsk every time it boots, implying that there are bad sectors on the disk. Bluetooth does not work. And making the the recovery disk is broken so I can't easily put a larger disk in it. What I got is a "used" computer, not a "refurbished" computer.
Summary: I bought this laptop because of my past experience with the line. They have excellent reliability. They are a little tougher than any retail laptop of the same size. As with any laptop, you must perform routine maintenance, clean the dust out of the processor fan and keyboard. This is very easy with Probooks. Security is another reason. Most of the business line Probooks come with fingerprint readers and other embedded security features.
