Summary: After two months of using I can confirm that it is a great notebook. The model that I have is slightly different with 8 Gb of Ram and 1 Tb hard drive. I also changed the hard drive with a SSD. I can work with a lot of resourcehungry programs with no waiting time.
Summary: This thing is nice but now out of date so I do not think there are any new ones going around, but to talk about this for a moment it's like this. I have a ProBook 4510s that I carry around that I love cause it's small, this 4720s is just like that but with a larger screen which is nice but heavier...
Summary: I purchased this laptop six weeks ago. It has 4 gigs of ram and that is plenty for running six programs at once glitch free and speedily. The computer is attractive but is very prone to smudges from finger prints just as stainless appliances and glossy black finishes are.
Summary: This laptop was excellent from the start then it started to give problems with the OS. It's light and compact for a 17" laptop. The raised keyboard makes cleaning easier. The combo function keys means you don't have an overtly cluttered keyboard.
Summary: I've had this laptop for 2 years with no problems. Mouse takes some getting used to but it works great. Its fast, really fast for the price. I don't understand all the negative reviews. It is a little bit big and after two years of HEAVY use it still works very well.
Summary: I bought my probook 2 years ago for a general use laptop, and I'm very pleased with its performance! I traveled with it to Afghanistan and back and not even a whiff of trouble. I can't comment on battery life or touchpad issues, which seem to be the common complaints.
Summary: This laptop is almost awesome, except for one crucial problem: the touchpad. It is so bad it makes the laptop almost unusable without an external mouse. The touchpad is a BAD knockoff of the apple touchpad from their macbookpro line.
Summary: I just bought a 4720 ProBook. The display is not nearly as good as the 6 year old Compaq laptop it was intended to replace. The colors are washed out, and increasing or decreasing the brightness doesn't help. Also, looking at the screen and moving side to side, the image is OK.
