Summary: Upgraded to this computer from an HP Pavilion based on a recommendation from Eluktronics and I'm very pleased I did so. I've had numerous laptops over the years, for both business and personal use, and this is the best by far. I'm still learning how to use some of the bells and whistles (like the HP security features) but I'm impressed with its solid build, quiet and efficient performance and speed.
Summary: I recently purchased this laptop to replace my 5 year old HP ProBook. I have had great luck with HP over the years so I thought I would give this computer a shot. I really liked the fact it had a SSD and backlit keyboard. Upon startup of the computer I was shocked at the speed and continue to be after using it for about a week. This computer is a speed machine! No hesitation, no freezing, everything happens instantaneously.
Excerpt: Bought this for my Grand daughter for College. Very well put together, looks and feels like it will last through her college years and beyond. Easy set up, no problems right out of the box. She loves it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Set Up, Performance
Excerpt: I love it. God has really blessed. I was first leery of getting an HP, but I have been impressed, even with the manuals you can download from the web site. I was leery of having an AMD processor in a notebook, because of the heat. The notebook has been quite cool. I bought a Cooler Master U2 notebook cooler anyhow. Office Depot's advertisement is a little misleading.
Pros: value, Easy to Use, Battery Life, Lightweight, Quality, Easy to Set Up, Performance
Summary: These aren't sold in stores, the HP Pro Book with Windows 7 is the only good laptop I've seen. I've been shopping for laptops for years, on and off. Today's laptops are junk, they are flimsy, Lenovo's are broken before even leaving the store. The Dell's have severe hardware problems and fail immediately with black screens (I had a Dell for awhile and it failed.
Summary: 1. Battery would not hold a charge 2. Windows would not boot on the battery 3. On AC I tried a restart. The screen went blank and the computer would not automatically restart. 4. Every time I tried to boot up on the battery I got a Windows error recovery screen; one continuous loop over and over again 5. Took the computer to a computer service store at which I have had excellent service in the past.
Summary: I like everything else about this pc except that its really slow. It took almost 5 minutes for it to recognize and install a drive for a wireless mouse! Same thing when I inserted an SD card to retrieve pictures. There is very little on this machine so I don't know why its so slow. But everything else about it is great. Comfy keyboard, good display. I found it in TigerDirect for 40% off the price and no, its not a refurb.
