It is just okay - some parts are not designed all that well.

ComputRFixer, Amazon
22 June 2014
  • Summary: Pros: I like the brushed metal top case, overall size, and the bottom case comes off with the battery release buttons so installing memory was easy. I like that it has a DVD burner, Windows 7 not 8, and;6 substantial hinges. I also like the speakers on top, not on the bottom so I can hear them better.

Honestly...

that guy, Amazon
30 May 2014
  • Summary: I kind of expected more, I even upgraded the RAM, but something is not right with the microphone when I attempt to use skype it always leaves this crackley noise etc. Which is important when I spend the majority of my time overseas. Works well though pretty fluid and if you're an early twenties man that is always in a different country than your woman then lets be honest for what this thing is mostly going to be used for... so at least it does that well.

Better Than My Old Laptop But..........

Rita Comerford, Amazon
8 May 2014
  • Summary: This HP is a definite improvement over my old "dying" 8 yr old Dell laptop but I am not completely satisfied. I am not a computer geek and it may be because this is my first experience with an HP Product but there seem to be too many "Alerts" coming through and it is almost like it was pre-owned even though I thought I was buying it brand new.

Hp Probook

rhg1, Amazon
27 April 2014
  • Summary: This laptop came with both windows 7 & windows 8 which was the motivator behind my decision being I am a old school user like win 98 & XP. I also went to the local big box store and played with the other brands in this class of computers. I thought the HP was a better built, better feeling keyboard, and good screen. The reason for 3 star rating is the touch pad {mouse pad} sometimes doesnt move smoothly and sometimes will not move at all at first.

It's Not Bad!

The Dude, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: The biggest downside is that it has Windows 8. The good news is that you can go to classicshell.net and download a shell that makes it look like Win 7. HP support has gone downhill.

Mother board went out on day 32.

Shar, Amazon
9 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this computer to make sure I had no problems during tax season (I am a preparer). Unfortunately the mother board quit on day 32 between clients. The computer itself came quickly and was well packaged. I liked the fell of the computer and had no problems working with it. I purchased it based on the reviews and the fact that it had Windows 7. I am giving 3 stars because Amazon offered me a full refund.

Won't drive a second screen at HD resolution

GARY SMITH, Amazon
7 March 2014
  • Summary: I expected any current laptop to have the ability to drive a second screen at 1920 by 1080. Despite not being able to run this into an external HD display, this machine is a reasonable tool for web browsing and typical home type tasks.

Anitquated HP software and large keys

SB from Carroll, Amazon
17 February 2014
  • Summary: This is a very nice HP ProBook with 15.6" non-glare screen. I purchased it for my neighbor on Black Friday and received a very good deal through Amazon. The large keys will take some getting used to if you're used to reg/small ones and type fast. Actually I connected it to a Targus docking station with Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse so the keys don't pose such a problem except when taking it on the "fly".

Windows 8 - wtf?????

michael g wales, Amazon
16 January 2014
  • Summary: I like the laptop so far but I am not a fan of Windows 8 whatsoever. I have had to set up a lot of "work arounds" to manage the challenges. It seems like it takes too many steps to accomplish something as simple as shutting down. And the password requirements for logging in after computer was "sleeping" - I spent many hours on the internet before I found a workable solution. I don't know what Windows designers were thinking.
