Hp Probook

rhg1, Amazon
27 April 2014
  • Summary: This laptop came with both windows 7 & windows 8 which was the motivator behind my decision being I am a old school user like win 98 & XP. I also went to the local big box store and played with the other brands in this class of computers. I thought the HP was a better built, better feeling keyboard, and good screen. The reason for 3 star rating is the touch pad {mouse pad} sometimes doesnt move smoothly and sometimes will not move at all at first.

It's Not Bad!

The Dude, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: The biggest downside is that it has Windows 8. The good news is that you can go to classicshell.net and download a shell that makes it look like Win 7. HP support has gone downhill.

Mother board went out on day 32.

Shar, Amazon
9 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this computer to make sure I had no problems during tax season (I am a preparer). Unfortunately the mother board quit on day 32 between clients. The computer itself came quickly and was well packaged. I liked the fell of the computer and had no problems working with it. I purchased it based on the reviews and the fact that it had Windows 7. I am giving 3 stars because Amazon offered me a full refund.

Won't drive a second screen at HD resolution

GARY SMITH, Amazon
7 March 2014
  • Summary: I expected any current laptop to have the ability to drive a second screen at 1920 by 1080. Despite not being able to run this into an external HD display, this machine is a reasonable tool for web browsing and typical home type tasks.

Anitquated HP software and large keys

SB from Carroll, Amazon
17 February 2014
  • Summary: This is a very nice HP ProBook with 15.6" non-glare screen. I purchased it for my neighbor on Black Friday and received a very good deal through Amazon. The large keys will take some getting used to if you're used to reg/small ones and type fast. Actually I connected it to a Targus docking station with Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse so the keys don't pose such a problem except when taking it on the "fly".

Windows 8 - wtf?????

michael g wales, Amazon
16 January 2014
  • Summary: I like the laptop so far but I am not a fan of Windows 8 whatsoever. I have had to set up a lot of "work arounds" to manage the challenges. It seems like it takes too many steps to accomplish something as simple as shutting down. And the password requirements for logging in after computer was "sleeping" - I spent many hours on the internet before I found a workable solution. I don't know what Windows designers were thinking.

Sharp Lookling

GerryM, Amazon
3 January 2014
  • Summary: This is an adequate laptop, great keyboard.....I bought this computer because it has Win 7 . The screen resolution seems a bit diluted, memory is minimal. It's fast for simple , everyday use. I like that it's lighter than my 15" Dell, although the Dell screen is brighter and configuration is better. One exception? the Dell is Win 8...ugh! I am satisfied with my HP, however I feel it's too pricey because it has Win 7.

Low rez screen, lots of HP crapware

Walt, Amazon
18 December 2013
  • Summary: The screen is very low rez for the size of it, and the drive seems very slow. I added a high speed SD card for Windows to use as a cache, but I'll probably have to replace the HDD with an SSD to get better performance. HP also includes WAY too much crapware that needs to be removed. In fact it's so bad I'll probably end up wiping and reloading.

Set up instruction shoul be more detailed

John Duser, Amazon
15 December 2013
  • Summary: The set up instruction are a laugh, they are for all intend and purpose useless. I could not get into the help and support section on the computer. Only after a local expert did some work on the computer was I able to access the Help and Support Section. There were other issues that a regular user of a computer would not know how to fix.Very frustrating.
