Summary: HP's ProBook 450 G1 provides high application performance and quiet operation. The battery life is also very good. HP has installed great input devices in the ProBook as well. Beyond that, the tool-less opening of the maintenance cover is a plus. However, HP devalues the laptop by installing an unacceptable screen. It has a bluish cast, low contrast, and is only averagely bright. A laptop for ~$700 should have more to offer. The one-year warranty is also too short.

Summary: The product was not received as advertised, it was defective. HP SmartFriend Services concluded: The Auto configuration IPv4 Address 169.254.154.211 (DHCP) is not giving out the address to the NoteBook. Therefore, there is no internet connection. Network interface card perhaps defective.
Summary: I've only had it for a few days but I'm very happy with it so far. So grateful that Windows 7 was still available. I replaced a 7 year old Compaq which never gave me problems so I'm glad to stick with an HP product. This is going to be perfect for me as I become a student once again in the Spring. Nice to finally have a built-in Webcam too -- I have not used yet so I can't give a review on it.
