Good solid decent computer, but you will wait a bit with only 2GB RAM
8 November 2014
Summary: I am satisfied with the packaging of the computer. Came in very sturdy and shipped nicely and quickly. it comes with Windows version 8.1 and If you like aps strung across your view of a laptop screen, its nice, but I really would prefer to click on a place to find the aps rather than them blaring me in the face all of a sudden. After all this is not a tablet, its a computer.
Summary: Everything I expected, and performs to specification. I'ts not going to set the IT world on fire but is good value for the price. No Bluetooth is a letdown though. Suits my purpose admirably as a small travel PC to view and store large RAW files from a pro DSLR camera.
Summary: I needed a laptop for a trip to Europe. I was looking for something small and lightweight and this seemed to fit the bill. I read the reviews here and when the laptop arrived, I followed some of the steps recommended (custom setup vs express, etc). The laptop worked well to begin with. Even with using custom setup and disabling a bunch of startup stuff, it was slow, but it really isn't supposed to be fast. About a week after receiving it, it began to have problems.
Summary: I've had this laptop for a few months now, bought it from another retail location. True it doesn't have major horsepower, but I've grown tired of lugging around a larger laptop. I did the custom install and removed all the bloatwear. It seems to run fairly decent with all the crap gone. I can't remember if it had Norton the lagtastic on it or not, but I immediately removed that on any new computer.
Summary: Nothing but problems. We were going to use it for a kids ministry check-in station at church. Well, we followed all the directions, but the drivers for the Dymo Labelwriter 450 Turbo wouldn't install. (Worked fine on an old MacBook Pro, so we're using that.) Then we tried using it to show video, but hooking it up to the projector via HDMI doesn't seem to work. The computer says it's putting the signal out... but the projector doesn't see it.
Summary: How to stop programs from slowing down this computer if you selected EXPRESS Setup. Click on the windows button (the one at the bottom left hand corner with four squares on it) and then, while holding the windows button, click "C". You will see a side bar come up on the left that will let let you do a search. In there you can write "msconfig" and select it when it comes up.The system configuration window will come up.
Summary: After a lop of research, I decided to go for this one, and I'm glad I did. While it isn't as fast as my desktop, it is still pretty good, better than what some of the comments might lead you to believe. (Check the comments about set up without slowing it down.) I like being able to switch between the keyboard and the touch screen, whichever is faster for me. I paired it with an AmazonBasics mouse and a Samsung USB 2.0 Ultra portable External DVD Drive.
