Summary: I purchased the notebook for my son who is a senior in high school. The idea was that he could use the notebook for a few years in school. Two days after the warranty expired, the hard drive failed. With no optical drive, the only way was to get the OS on a flash drive.
Summary: This is the worst computer I have ever owned. The touch/click pad is terrible. It bogs down and doesn't run, requires rebooting often to unlock it when stuck or to recognize wireless connections. The combination of this computer and Windows 8 will make you change to apple.
Summary: From the get-go this laptop was underwhelming. First off, it comes with a "bonus" security disc, which was great until I realized that there is no rom-drive on this computer and no way to install it! Other frustrations: The shockwave plugin (or flash or whatever) crashes quite regularly.
Summary: When I got it back in May of 2013, it WAS the best laptop ever, unfortunately, I have had to return it TWICE for repair. First, HP employees did not send my laptop in customer service sequence as they should have. They replaced the motherboard and sent it back to me.
Summary: I bought this from a different retailer. This has to be the worst HP Product I've ever bought. Pros: 10 key keyboard lay out screen size Cons: Mouse hangs Windows 8 hangs wont update to 8.1 random HP updates - Lost sound last time had to downgrade the BIOS. I really hate this computer.
Summary: The lack of a touch screen is quite disappointing. Especially considering I specifically checked off "touch screen" when looking for a laptop. HP should do a better job when categorizing their products.
Summary: I so regret wasting money on this piece of garbage. It has no CD drive. OK, maybe that's my fault. I did assume any laptop that someone is actually going to use would have a CD drive for new programs, movies, etc.
Summary: You will waste your money buying this piece of dump...It doesn't have a DVD drive, it doesn't have a VGA port...takes forever to open a page on the internet...When you call HP for assistance they are absolutely rude and they lie to you..I asked Customer Support at HP for a refund....
