Defective and expensive laptop, and bad customer service

Summary: I bought this laptop at my local best buy in March 2013 for nearly 800 dollars, expecting it to be a reliable and lovable machine that I could use for many years. But a few months after buying it, it stared having thermal shutdown problems that make the laptop nearly impossible to use. So I took it back to best buy to see if they could fix it. They blew some compressed air into the vents and sent it back.
Summary: Bought this laptop for my daughter. After 15 months the hinge started coming off. Horrible design. Appears systemic for this model. Unfortunately HP does not stand behind their product. Stay away from HP ENVY laptops. Far away.
Summary: I've had this laptop for a little over a year now;It was great the first few months. Then the fingerprint scanner stopped working and it started to freeze a lot. Now it starts to freeze all the time and it will over heat very easily. It randomly shuts off and restarts. Whenever you move the screen to much it will make a buzzing nose and stop working.
Luckily a previous buyer recommended getting a solid state drive and yes

Summary: A lot slower than expected. It took it's time to do everything, even when I minimized a window it took about 3 seconds before actually minimizing. Luckily a previous buyer recommended getting a solid state drive and yes, it's worth the money considering how slow it was
Summary: Very easy to replace (10 min max) and a great alternative to sending it in. Only requires popping off plastic edge, unscrewing 4 small screws which require a glasses repair kit type screwdriver, and unplugging the old screen. This is the second time i've replaced the screen.
