Pavilion M6

N/A, Newegg
24 April 2013
  • Summary: Since I don't use the native screen that much, I couldn't be happier with this laptop for the price I paid.
  • Pros: Great laptop for the price. Very nice features, like the backlight keyboard (light activated from the function keys). I use mine primarily hooked up to a 23" Asus monitor through HDMI and it looks great. I plays Balck Ops II really well, though at lower graphical settings. Black Ops I, or BF3, no...
  • Cons: The native screen is underwhelming, need to have a specific viewing angle to see it right. Also, I have my settings set to do nothing when the lid is closed, and sometimes when I close the screen the output switches from the monitor to the laptop, which is a pain. I then have to reset my settings...

Great Deal for the Price

N/A, Newegg
20 February 2013
  • Summary: Upgraded my RAM to 8 GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104257)
  • Pros: Great laptop overall. Runs really cool all the time (even when gaming). Runs almost everything on medium settings and older games at high settings. Decent sized hard drive. I was also really surprised at the sound quality.
  • Cons: Screen could be brighter, but at this price range its unfair to complain.

  • Cons: ummm.... it comes with a 5400rpm HDD. Which is expected for price range.

  • Pros: Backlit Keyboard, Lightweight, Great graphics for the price, upgradable, the list goes on. For the money, I would recommend this laptop to just about anyone. Its great for normal use, pulling for me almost 8 hours in powersaver mode just browsing the web. Almost 8 and a half with just word proces...

Solid

N/A, Newegg
31 January 2013
  • Summary: I like cookies
  • Pros: Price, Processor, RAM, Hard Drive, basically everything about the computer itself is pretty good. For the price of $500 you're not going to find a better deal. Package was here day earlier than expected. The back lighting that you can turn on and off is pretty neat to play with.
  • Cons: Does not come with a user manual (at least mine didn't). As stated before, it comes in a vacuum sealed bag attached to a cardboard backing in box. A bit weird but it came here in one piece.

Bad sound card

N/A, Newegg
23 January 2013
  • Summary: Beats audio: This stuff is terrible. When listening through speakers, beats audio will try to actively equalize (or something like that), which ends ups varying the volume very noticeably. It's very annoying. I don't think it caused the same problem through the headphones though.
  • Pros: Backlit keyboard, ran old games on highest settings, good looking and fairly portable, fingerprint scanner was actually a fairly nice feature.
  • Cons: A LOT of flex near both shift keys, dead pixels (may be normal for this price point), beats audio is terrible, and so is the sound card (see below for both), some annoying bloatware, but a fresh install will solve that. Reflective, poor viewing angle screen.
