to ship it to them and to ship it back which was great and took about a week to fix

  • Summary: I've owned this laptop for 2 years now. In that 2 years, the charging port fried and as of now, as I'm typing this review from a different laptop I have to replace the fan in it for the 2nd time. Mind you, I keep this thing in an area where dust doesn't get in and it is well vented, however the fan loves to go on this thing. When the charging port went, HP honored their 1 year warranty and were extremely helpful.

  • Summary: I gave this as a gift and I guess it is okay as the person and my family no longer talk. However as far as HP products you will not find me buying another their customer servise is a joke and only desire to charge you for any and every little thing.

Didn't make it 18 months.

Eric "Turbodweeb", Amazon
6 August 2014
  • Summary: Currently the price shows @ $528. When I purchased mine it was about $300. Big difference. I got mine in Feb of 2013- a little less than 18months ago. Mine is no longer useable. Common complaints tend to mainly be about Windows 8. Honestly, it was a pain when I first started using it, but after the patches & personal experience with it, it's not bad at all and honestly, I'll probably use it exclusively going forward until Windows 9 without hesitation.

The computer is about 3 stars. HP support is 5 stars.

  • Summary: I bought this computer a bit over a year ago for under $400. It has severed me pretty well so far. My laptops usually get very hard use. Both in the way of the amount of time I spend on them as well as rough handling such as having them slide off the bed on to the floor every now and then. THE GOOD- *It has a large screen which I like. It is not difficult to find bags for it as one reviewer claimed, there is one on this page for *example.

  • Summary: Bought for my mother this computer has worked fine for her. Her previous computer was an XP so the Windows 8 Pro operating system has been an adjustment but she likes it ok. The few times I have used it the computer is fine I just do not like Windows 8. Of course I am using a Window 7 Pro operating system on my computer.

Nice Laptop

  • Summary: I'm an everyday internet surfer/student. It accommodates most of my everyday needs. To me, not too many laptops stand out much- they all pretty much do the same thing. I would have gave 4 stars, but the battery life is horrendous! I mean terrible. I can't even take it off the charger for 2 hours.

Make sure you like the change to the "Apple Look" in Windows 8

John E. Kocourek, Amazon
28 February 2014
  • Summary: I should have read more about Windows 8 before buying this laptop. I am retired from 40 years in the computer industry, so am not a novice with learning new operating systems. However, I did not realized Microsoft was changing to an Apple looking interface. The screen is filled with apps, looking much like my ipad and iphone. Have had it a couple months and am still getting use to traversing from one application to another.
