Powerful machine. A few Achilles' heels.
9 September 2012
Excerpt: When my engineering friend came over to help me recover my computer's data, he told me that this was an incredibly powerful machine. Great RAM, great memory, great processing, solid video card. However, this machine clearly has some problems, which I'll consider to be its Achilles' heels. For one, the harddrive doesn't seem particularly durable. I've had to replace them three or four times. Ugh.
Summary: This computer is really nice but way too heavy and the battery life is not very good (only last about 2 hours). I was hoping to have a more mobile laptop but this one feels more like a full computer. Not too practical. I think I will return. It also took forever to arrive...
Summary: WORKS REAL GOOD, NICE AND FAST, ISSUES W/THE MEDIA PLAYER, SOMETHING I THINK TO DO WITH THE 64 BIT CARD AND THE WINDOWS VISTA, ALSO THE CAMERA DOESN'T WORK W/THE PROGRAM IN THE COMPUTER AS WELL AS THE MICROPHONE I NEED TO HAVE IT LOOKED INTO, OTHER THAN THAT LONG BATTERY LIFE GREAT PICTURE...
Summary: I bought this to replace my old Averatec 12". My wife and I cannot be more glad about our purchase. I mainly use it for light uses (web browsing) as well as some software development, which it is fully capable of doing. The great things about this HP Pavilion laptop (refurbished) are the 17" screen, long battery life (around 3 hours), quietness, and cool operating temperature.
Pros: Long Battery Life, Powerful, Quality Display, Quiet, Recognize only 3GB of RAM
Cons: Low performance video, Poorly Designed Keyboard
