Summary: I have had mine since 12/2010. It came with 1 500 gig 7200 rpm hard drive, There are 2 bays for hard drives. I installed another 750 gig in the second bay even though H.P. said it would not work. Went on line and found the connecter for 12 dollars.
Summary: UPDATE*******After owning the laptop for 3 years, I have decided to never buy an HP again. This laptop has fried 3 hard drives, the power charger needed replacing, and the quick menu keys (volume, wifi, ect.) randomly turn on and off at all times. My biggest problem is the fried hard drives.
Summary: Got this PC for my wife to play games. WoW what a neat PC. Best PC I have ever bought. Had an issue with the WD hard drive and HP replaced it w/o charge. Support kinda slow but great. Yes I WILL buy another.
Summary: I've had my Hp for about 3 years now and am currently searching for something else. It freezes randomly or all the actions are delayed. The unit gets pretty hot after 10-15 minute use, and theres not much ventilation. It also eats up battery fast, I get about 35-40 min with it being fully charged.
Summary: First of all i bought my HP DV8t at the store. It was a heck of a lot cheaper than this rip off online. CHeck Hp.com and build ur own. Second of all mine overheated and ruined the hard drive and some sockets. Called HP and said that the damage was due to wear and tear.
Awesome Desktop replacement, but not a gaming machine.

Summary: If you want a awesome large screen laptop for school, work, or multimedia, this is an awesome machine. I bought one 2 Christmas's ago and am typing this review on it now. I bought it for $1400 with the blu-ray and i7 proc with some free upgrades at the HP online store.
laptop was crappy, but customer service was worse!

Summary: I am going to be frank with you. This laptop is one of the few laptops that I have had that I personally could not fix myself. I have a degree in computer science, and when this laptop blew up on me, I had no idea what was wrong with it because so many things were wrong.
Summary: I bought it from Sam's Club back in 2010. And within 2 weeks of using it, I had to do a hard drive reset by the recommendations of HP customer service to fix the screen freezing issues and the crashes, which happened a lot for a BRAND NEW laptop. Took it back to Sam's Club and get my full refund.
Good computer BUT FOR wi-fi going on and off... and HP not fixing
9 July 2010
Summary: I would avoid this computer because the volume and wi-fi go off and on so often many people stop using the computer and swear they will never buy a HP again. This also affects the bluetooth. Personally the wi-fi became unusable and I started using an ethernet cable only.
