HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad Edition Review

21 May 2012
  • Conclusion: With a recent deal via a coupon the HP dv6t-7000 Quad Edition price fell to $770, which is an insanely good price for such a high quality laptop that has so much power.  This notebook is solidly built with an aluminum chassis and rigid feel all over.  The new Intel Ivy Bridge processor combined with Nvidia GT 650M graphics makes this a capable gaming laptop, but if you have no interest in gaming then it can double as a powerful workstation for demanding applications.
  • Pros: Great price to feature ratio, recently priced starting under $800 with coupon, Amazing performance with the Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor and Nvidia GT 650M, 1920 x 1080 screen is gorgeous, Keyboard backlighting is a great new feature, Lots of upgrade options, easy to configure online
  • Cons: Mouse buttons below touchpad are chintzy, Fit and finish build quality issues with this early production unit (April 2012), Enough bloatware to warrant removing some, an annoying waste of time, Glossy screen bezel is a fingerprint magnet

HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition Review

11 December 2011
  • Conclusion: The HP dv6t Quad Edition is a powerful laptop option and can be had at a great price if you keep your eyes open for a deal.  The fact that I was able to get a configuration with a Quad Core i7-2630qm processor, AMD 6770M graphics, Blu-Ray drive, 750GB storage and 6GB RAM for $799 is amazing.  The dv6tqe is built very well, the aluminum chassis makes the entire laptop rigid and firm, there’s no flex on the body.

HP dv6t Select Edition Review

6 December 2011
  • Conclusion: The HP dv6t Select Edition is probably the best overall choice among the dv6t family options for the average user.  It won’t break the bank with its $699 starting price and can be had for any even better price after HP coupons are used.  It offers enough performance for most people’s needs, the Intel Core i5-2410m is a great choice and that middle of the road option that isn’t too expensive yet far from being a cheap underperformer.

18 September 2011
  • Excerpt: The HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition is a 15.6” screen desktop replacement style laptop with, as its name suggests, a powerful Intel Quad Core processor as a standard feature.  The HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition, which for the sake of brevity we’ll refer to as the HP dv6tqe, also comes equipped with a high mid-range […]

HP Pavilion dv6t-6000

5 July 2011
  • Summary: The HP Pavilion dv6t is a solid improvement on HP's previous 15-inch mainstream consumer laptop with numerous tweaks, bells, and whistles, but the wide variety of options means you'll get wildly different systems based on what you can afford.
  • Pros: Improved design, Beats audio, new USB 3.0 ports, an HD Webcam, a fingerprint sensor, a variety of configurations ranging from budget to high-end, and second-gen Core i-series processors are all part of the HP Pavilion dv6t 's design makeover.
  • Cons: Underperforming AMD graphics, too many confusing configuration options, and an overly flexible keyboard make for a less-than-overwhelming overall experience.

LAPTOP Magazine
10 June 2011
  • Summary: Consumers looking for a stylish and affordable multimedia laptop with strong performance, convenient fingerprint security, and impressive sound should snatch up the $769 HP Pavilion dv6t. The second-generation Intel Core i5-2410M CPU provides more than enough power to stream HD movies while uploading images or editing video, while the inclusion of switchable graphics gives the dv6t enough oomph for playing the latest games.

HP Pavilion dv6t (1054CL)

28 May 2009
