Excerpt: I'm personally satisfied with HP laptop. It has good battery life, display and colors. Its far better than Mac. I used Mac a number of times but its not friendly at all. The only problem is the shape of its battery. No doubt its behind the long battery life, but sometimes the protusion makes it difficult to carry and it also adds up to the weight of the laptop. I use it for almost 10-12hrs a day and its been 2yrs now, its still working perfectly.
Great widescreen laptop but battery doens't last!!!

Excerpt: I got this laptop as a gift from my husband. I like it a lot but wanted something a little more compact, to use eg in a coffee shop etc. I'm online a lot and have wireless and I can be anywhere in the house or outside and it works. The only problem is that it gets hot and the battery normally only lasts and hour or two!!! Thats pretty bad.
Summary: This is a great laptop.. when it works... The dv series laptop around this era had a defect in the soldering around the video chip on the motherboard.. the solder would seperate causing the computer to 'die'. This defect was actually a manufacturer recall, but since most people never send in the warrantee information, they were never notified of the recall, which expired after one year. Now if this problem occurs, it's over $350.00 to send for repairs.
Summary: I purchased this laptop referbished and it performes excellently for me, but be cautioned when you purchase a referbished computer. Because where mine performs on a high level it does have an issue with the soundcard driver. My laptop has no sound there for it's uses are limited untill i get it repaired but that's the risk you take with any referbished product.
Summary: The new laptop has a bright screen that is easy on the eyes and the finish on the exterior is unique. Connecting to a wireless network is extremely simple, just open the connection wizard and the computer does the work for you. Playing DVD's and other media is also easy, one click on the HP Quick Play icon gets you started. Finally, the remote for the media player is a nice addition.
Excerpt: "...for a very reasonable price. HP seems to be one of the best laptop brands on the market - I know so many friends at university with other brands who have been riddled with problems. Whilst this laptop is not so new now, it still competes quite well with many of the new models on the market, as it had a lot of additional features that others of its time did not have. It is comfortable and easy to use, with lots of great features. Definitely a good ...
Pros: Good speakers, good sound, overall reliability, many extra features, good value for money
Excerpt: "...owner of one of these hp pavilion dv6500t laptops. It has a 15.4" Brightview display and the processor is an intel centrino duo (core 2 duo). The quality of the images displayed on the screen are excellent and overall the processor is very fast (one of the fastest laptops i have ever used). It has a memory of up to 2GB RAM which is more than enough for normal use (work/leisure). Another benefit of this laptop is the number of external connections ...
Excerpt: "...me. As a fan of HP products, I chose from the DV6500 range available at the time. This laptop had every spec I required for both using as a station for university assignments, as well as home use for music, film and gaming. Firstly, the design is eye-catching. I was bored of looking at the generic black or grey and thought the white anti-scratch surface was ideal. The laptop is also quite light and the absense of a locking clip meant there was ...
Excerpt: "...really nice looking laptop. The HP remote is really useful, i'm not entirely sure on the range of it but it works on IR usage so, so long as your are kinda close and pointing it at the right area it should do what you want it to. The remote also slides into the laptop next to the DVD drive so you won't lose it. The 5 in 1 card reader is also really useful, I use a variety of memory cards and they all work (i did have to get an adapter for my Memory ...
Pros: the look, 2gb ram, dual core, media designs, dvd rw, lightscribe
Cons: vista, no backwards support to XP, graphics chip, no boot disc but rather partitioned harddrive
