Summary: So I got this laptop for Christmas in 2010 for college. At the time the specs were pretty good. Now however they can be considered basic and can be obtained in entry level laptops. With windows 7 I was frustrated because it would take a few minutes to get to the login screen after pressing the power button which annoyed me a lot. Also it would be laggy. Now I upgraded to windows 8.1 and let me say that it's breathed new life into my laptop.
Excerpt: This HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop and I have had a love/ hate relationship since the day I brought it home. It ahs some fantastic features and some not so great things about it. I love the screen size and the fact that despite how large it is, it is not that heavy. It does get very warm in my lap or on any surface. This is one of the major drawbacks to it. I know latops get warm, but this one is over the top with the heat it puts out.
Excerpt: I bought this laptop about a month ago and have no problems with it yet. It's got a great keyboard for typing. It is just the right size for being able to carry it around while still being large enough to pack a lot of RAM and 500 GB harddrive in it. So I didn't give up quality to get this laptop. It came with a trial of microsoft office, many HP programs, and some high-quality ways to play or make video, like Roxio Cinemagic.
Excerpt: I have had this computer for about 4 years now. This labtop has gone through sooo much. It has been dropped, thrown around, hauled from class to class, traveled and so much more, and still to this day works great for all its been through. The battery on the other hand did not make it far so the computer pretty much sits staionary at my desk. The features on the computer are great. The overall computer is really not that big either.
Excerpt: This Hp was better then i expected when i first purchased it. The graphics card is alot better then most laptops ive come across lately. with enough ram to mainting streaming speed for movies.
Excerpt: This is a great computer and ive owned other HPs before. My First HP had battery problems and HP replaced the battery for free twice. Once i got this new computer over 6 months ago i have never had a battery or hardware problem of any kind! This computer is fast - 4gb of RAM, 64-bit operating system, and an AMD dual core processor at 2.3 gHz. The only flaw is its mouse pad.
Excerpt: Great laptop with a great look. Upgraded to Windows 7 beautifully and runs better than ever. Has a tendancy to overheat if it's not slightly elevated and if you have a lot of programs running. Otherwise great quality and great internet connection. I love the Lightscribe CD/DVD burner and the professional feel it gives to the CDs and DVDs I burn. Wireless works great and is easily connected.
Excerpt: This is my first laptop and I've been using it for about 3-4 years and it still hasn't gotten to the point that I have to completely call it quits. Although, I had to reformat it several times, but that's my fault since I let viruses attack it. It has a nice display and nice design. Most laptops have the things that it has, but it includes many little games inside that entertain me when my internet fails to work and it also has Lightscribe, which is a laser CD-labeling...
My HP Pavilion has suprised me- it has worked relatively well.

Excerpt: My HP Pavilion works well. It is good for the basic email, internet surfing, music, and word processing. It is a few years old, but so far hasn't become obsolete. The screen is nice and easy to read. the keyboard and mouse have held up well. The speakers are not my favorite, but it is a laptop... I would recommend it.
Excerpt: My husband and I spent a LOT of time researching laptops before we bought them. My husband is an ULTRA computer geek - complete with a degree in comp sci - so we are very picky with the computers that we use. We were planning on (and did) purchase 2 of the same computers. We purchased 2 Dell's but ended up returning them right away because the keyboards were crap. So we then went with the HP DV5000's, and we are so glad that we did.
