Summary: The battery life is pretty bad, only lasts two hours when barely any programs are running. The keyboard is pretty bad too, you have to really pound on the keys for the computer to register some letters. I never had any problems with the touch pad. So I guess its an okay laptop, but I would not recommend it for anyone who has to write a lot of papers.
Summary: when opened the box I realized that the silver edges around the bottom rim in front of the laptop were not pieced together as flush as I would expect. also there was no plastic around the screen boarder like most NEW laptops would normally have. but it works fine so far. Amazon, I'm watching you!!!! lol......
Summary: It has been over three years since I've had this laptop. In fact, I'm writing this review ON this laptop. Pros: Convenient, easy to use, comes with basic programs installed. Cons: Slow as HELL, has a messed up sound system, randomly will go into "Unable to start. Use system restore?" Is NOT compatible with many devices. It's good for a laptop, one of my first. But not excellent. And there are quite a lot of things wrong with it. Sorry HP Pavilion dv5.
Summary: I got frustrated after 10 minutes of using this computer. The problem is the touch pad, more specifically the buttons on the touch pad. On this computer the buttons of the touch pad are actually part of the pad. A few lines on the pad mark out two areas at the bottom of the pad to be buttons. When you move the fingers on top of the buttons the mouse pointer actually moves just as at the other area of the pad.
Summary: I have owned this PC for 3 months. It is not the worse laptop, but it is not very useful for work. The keyboard is horrible. Typing requires you to type very slowly and with great force. If you try to type by touch at a decent rate (30+ words a minute), you will find that many of the letters that you typed are not registered. Additionally, for a entertainment laptop, it is difficult to open the cd/dvd door. The Sound is not that great for even a laptop.
Summary: Nice screen, keys are well spaced so if you have larger hands this is just the ticket. The built in mouse is jumpy and just a pain. Buy this computer and plan on getting a usb mouse soon thereafter...
Summary: LOOK AT THE SELLERS PERSONAL PRODUCT DETAILS, THEY ARE SELLING WEAKER COMPUTERS THEN THIS ONE HERE. MANY ARE 360GB HDD, BUT IN THE INFO IT STATES 400GB, many of these sellers are selling a different product, be careful, and make sure you get what your looking for!!!
A tiny flaw drags down what is otherwise an amazing computer
22 June 2010
Summary: This is a terrific computer, but has an extremely strange flaw. The keyboard is illegible. You have to strain your eyes to see the letters and characters printed in light grey on a grey background. With all the fuss made in the description about the design and form factor, it is mind blowing that can they make such a ridiculous error in design. At first I thought, no biggie... I'll get used to it.
