Great little laptop, gets the basic jobs done easily!
12 November 2012
Summary: It's like the little engine that could, I mean sure it's not shiny and new this season and the drivers for the microphone don't like windows 7 too much but beyond that for what hubby uses it for it's great. Mostly he games on FB, checks email, and reads; however he also watches movies on it and WOW is all I can say for the speakers...probably the best I've heard on a laptop.
Excerpt: I like this lappie. Got a ton of power and speed for 1000 bucks! My favorite part of the laptop is how easy it is to turn on and off and to set on standby mode.It is very user friendly and came with a lot of extras for the price, including a webcam, microphone and fingerprint reader. (All built in.)It has every hole imaginable, including 2 USB, a DVD drive, Lightscribe and more.
Excerpt: This laptop is excellent. I have been using mine for a year now, and the only issue i have with it is that HP still has not solved the tendency for their products to overheat easily. having the back of the laptop elevated slightly to create an air flow would greatly improve this.
Excerpt: this is the coolest thing since atari man. I can't believe all the thing I can do with this thing. woo hoo!!! I can rule the world now....hahaha....watch out, here I come to rule the world!!!!! I really hate this 250 word minimum .
Excerpt: The laptop is great. It has so many features. The only issue i have is the gloss front. It looks nice but it attracts finger prints like crazy, but if you can get past that its a great piece of work. Love it.
The HP Pavilion dv 2000is not the best of laptops for the money

Excerpt: The HP Pavilion dv2000 was a replacement computer for the first one I bought. the biggest thing that on the downside is that it doesnt have blue tooth. Other than that with the windows media center many of the video's that I download cant be played so I installed VLC. Start up time is horendous but that is MS problem. For a reasonalby priced computer, it is ok for the money.
Excerpt: I bought this in order to have a portable pc for travelling. It's nice and small, not quite as small as a mac but it works. It has decent processing speed. The best thing was the price. You get a lot with this laptop for a reasonable price. If you've got the money go with the mac but if you want a great laptop while saving $1000 then go for the hp.
Excerpt: I recently bought the "special edition" Hp DV2000; it has a lot of features - lightscribe, webcam, 3 gig ram, etc; but the unit runs a little hot and the battery life is below average; the most disappointing feature though is the mouse pad - very contrary, despite messing with the settings at length - it freezes and gets behind when running a couple of programs at once.
Excerpt: The HP dv2000 is a great first time laptop and great for college students. The only bad thing about this computer is that it gets very hot very fast. The movie player isn't that great. Windows vista takes up alot of the battery life.. so you will be connected to the wall through class. I LOVE my laptop..
Excerpt: Great value especially if you can find it on sale. Very easy to use, and impressive features like LightScribe. Battery life (with the battery it comes with) is ok. Plenty of ports for various stuff, nice screen quality, and has a webcam/microphone. Great for college students.
