Summary: Bought this laptop brand new in June of 2012. 1 1/2 years later I call the HP tech support line to troubleshoot a power issue and am told that my motherboard is irreparable and will need to be replaced for around $300. Very convenient for HP that they only give you a 1 year warranty as their products take a nose dive after that time period. I had switched to HP as I thought that my 4 year old Dell was falling apart but at least it still runs well.
Summary: i spent over $400 dollars on a laptop from them, that not only came with absolutely nothing on it, but broken hinges connecting the screen to the keyboard. The only response I got over my complaint to them was that they wouldn't take it as a return. Nothing else. Worst decision of my life was buying from them.
Summary: this model was poorly done by hp, very very high temperature!! You can't open ONE program without it gets warm!!! And in months your notebook works WORSE, my battery burned recently.. HATE IT!!!!!!!
Summary: It's been a bit more than a year since I bought this computer and the hard drive has failed, no aparent reason (it didn't fall or anything). Worst of all, my guarantee expired two weeks ago!!!!
Summary: This Laptop worked fone for the first year but constantly freezes now. I have to take the battery out to retart. Computer keeps saying low on resources when i barely have anything running. Extremely frustrating..Never had such issues with Dell or Sony.
DON'T BUY!! HP laptops & customer service worse than BAD

Summary: I have an HP Pavilion dm4-3050us Entertainment PC. I purchased this brand new computer from Staples on February 15, 2012. In April 2012, I began to have a problem with the touchpad. It was diagnosed by HP that it was defective and was sent disks to repair the problem and bring the laptop back to initial purchase. FIRST, we needed to pack up all of the 400 GB documents, photos, pix, etc, that was on my laptop. It took months to re-install these documents.
Summary: Pros| Nice looking laptop. Looks sturdy and appears well built.. Has a finger scanner for security. Cons: It's made by HP and we have had nothing but trouble with it from day 1. Bad hard-drive which Best Buy fixed for us, then the DVD drive had to be replaced, which was sent out to us for us to replace ourselves. That saved HP a buck or 2 getting the customer to do the repairs.
Summary: I have had nothing but problems with this laptop. It was a few months old and the hard drive quit, along with the DVD. The finger sensor was wonderful; however, works sporadically. Very disappointed and discouraged, poor customer service. The screen is also now damaged, it was sent in, but they insist it was from misuse, which was NOT the cause. The cursor moves around like crazy, terrible waste of money for me, with no resources to purchase another.
Summary: This laptop has all the hardware specs in line, but fails at real world use. I purchased this laptop in May of 2012. I was really impressed with the performance campared to the price. Everything looked good, but I get more disapointed everyday. I'd just like to go through a list of some of the issues I've had so far. The screen resolution is a little too low for my taste. This is mostly my fault for picking out a notebook that is very portable.
Summary: There are a lot of good things about this laptop: speed, ease of use, sound quality, but the keyboard is a nightmare. While typing, the cursor will suddenly jump somewhere else on the page. This happens ALL the time and drives me crazy. A quick Google search told me I'm not alone in having this issue. Many users have complained about it. Do NOT buy this laptop.
