Summary: Not only was this computer slow, Mcafee came pre-installed and kept the browsers from going to https sites, such as google.com. Had to do a lot of fixing on it. Touchscreen didn't work out of the box. Returned it to walmart and got an Aspire E17. The Aspire is super fast and worked right out of the box (after setup of course).
Summary: At first it worked fine but i got the worst thing, after about 8 months it started having trouble especially with the internet, we took it in and it had a bad hard drive and we had to get it replaced. Soon after, it got SO MANY viruses and we didn't download anything! Next after it got its data erased it worked fine but then the Pavilion's worst mistake in all of its history the bad but famous "BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH" it is where the computer won't boot.
Summary: bought this computer in Sept. I'm primarily a MAC user but I always have a PC for Office apps, Visio, Project. Set it up and right away all of the intrusive HP utility sw was auto-launching...easy to unknowingly make a wrong selection. I already had a subscription with Norton but the preloaded McAfee made it impossible to move the Norton license over. All of the negative comments about the touchpad and mouse are true...many surprises trying to simply navigate.
Summary: This notebook bites you in very unexpected ways-- No bluetooth, and it cannot be added either- even though the OS image contains the driver package! The hard drive is unexpectedly filled with several superfluous partitions, the recover partition is assigned a drive letter that CANNOT be changed or removed. ( I prefer my optical drive to be 'D'- not my recovery partition) For a quad core the performance is NOT there.

Summary: I have never bought such a piece of crap! Had to pay extra for product support from HP and return the damn thing twice. Now windows is not working properly and Microsoft wants me to pay them extra for support, HP hung up on me. I hate this machine almost as much as I hate Window 8.1.
Summary: Purchased this refurbished HP computer which seemed like a great deal but it didn't work out. Started with trying to do the necessary updates to windows 8 which turned out to be 124 updates. Well it took hours to do the updates which didn't take and had to be reverted which took hours to revert. Contacted HP support which they were teriffic with trying to help.
Summary: This is the worst computer I've ever bought. Of all things HP decides to skrew up on it's the wireless. The RTL8188EE card in here is complete trash. It has massive issues and will frustrate you to no end. Wireless will cut out for hours at a time and Realtek hasn't fixed the problem. If you are thinking about putting a Distro on here FORGET IT, your machine's wifi will not be unusable because of broken Realtek drivers that don't work with new kernels.
