Summary: Around 2012 I pyrchased a 17 inch HP laptop, a precursor to this machine. The first one lasted two weeks before I returned it. The machine would not open with a USB plugged in and got even funkier. Got a new same one. It lasted until late 2014, when the mother board died. Went to HP certified repair shop and their estimate to repair the machine was slightly less than buying the new HP reviewed here. Easy choice and I decided to upgrade to the HP 17 inch i5.
Summary: for this price ,,, great little labtop,,,,i know it doesn't have a I7 intel processor or like a powerful gaming pc,,,,everything about it will do anything that you could want and watching movies or playing games on this labtop is still great for the price,,,it was this one or $899 for over the top of what i was looking for at a real good deal,
Summary: Love this laptop! Very fast for only having 4 gigs of RAM. Photoshop and other programs run so fast! It has a huge screen with great resolution. For the price you just can't beat it, I bought it for school (computer programming)and I am so satisfied. Slightly annoyed with Windows 8.1 most of the tiles are useless and more important functions are secondary to "ad space" tiles, but what can you do? When does Windows 9 come out?
Summary: Steep learning curve because of Windows 8 instead of 7. Constant messages from HP very annoying. Graphics and sound fantastic. Lots of features (maybe too many for my use). It crashed after 3 weeks but I was able to recover it (downloaded everything on a flash drive when I first got it).
