Summary: For the most part, this is a pretty decent computer. It has lots of memory, plenty of disk, a built-in optical drive, and a bright screen (although the screen surface is shiny rather than mat, so you get a lot of reflections and glare). Relatively speaking, it is not all that expensive. Most of all, it comes with Windows 7, which is why I bought it. One thing, however ruins this computer: the touchpad. It has an incredibly inconsistent response.
The touch screen is a nice feature, but shows fingerprints terribly

Summary: I purchased this laptop for light internet browsing. The internet browser frequently froze up and the images on the screen frequently re-sized, zooming in or out without warning. I had owned it for less than 3 months when the hard drive quit completely. The touch screen is a nice feature, but shows fingerprints terribly. Also, unless you like dealing with "apps" I would stay away from the Windows 8.1 operating system on this machine.
Excerpt: I bought this on april-15-2014 and today I did lot of research and realised that this laptop DOES NOT have Bluetooth in it !!! So disappointing!! My cheap smartphones all have bluetooth. The build quality is poor. Delicate plastic. And this model is not available on the HP.com website. When I spoke to HP cust service, they said that it is for re-sellers mainly. Unable to use bluetooth hedphones & other bluetooth devices. Need to spend extra on bluetooth dongles.
Summary: It was extremely frustrating to not be listened to the first time - and then have to repeat the return process due to the unhelpfulness of the first representative. I was recommended to NewEgg by my husband and father who are both now questioning the service of NewEgg. Hopefully I will receive a new laptop (without issues) this time, and I feel confident that David will help with anything that comes up, but it was just luck of the draw that I got him and if I had gotten...
Pros: The second customer service representative David was awesome and extremely helpful. He was willing to listen and help and believe me. My laptop was malfunctioning, I returned it, they found nothing wrong due to a programming issue, sent it back and it had even more problems and David helped me get it returned again and said he wouldn't let me get the same malfunctioning laptop again.
Cons: The first female customer service representative I talked to when I needed to return my laptop was unwilling to listen to the issues my laptop was having and didn't care to do anything beyond basic effort needed to help with my main problem - returning my malfunctioning laptop. I was given back the same malfunctioning laptop which presented more problems upon receiving it a second time.
Summary: The unit has a very cute look with it's sleek dimensions and basically functions well. However, a major issue I have with it is that many times when you log off, it's like hell to start-up again. I've enquired about his and was told that it's a simple matter of holding down the power switch for 20 seconds and it will work, but this has not been the case. Also, and this is most disappointing is that when I received the package I never got a handbook for the machine.
Excerpt: Got the laptop yest. The first impression seems good, but keeping my fingers crossed. Issues- 1. I ordered the model 15N028US, but I received 15N228US. Don't know why. They seem similar though. 2. It is mentioned that I can apply for $50 easy or mail-in rebate at stapleseasyrebates.com. I also verified this with cust service before buying. But I am not able to submit the rebate online. Talking & chatting with staples cust service now. 3.
