Review HP Mini 5101 Netbook

Notebookcheck
16 November 2010
  • Conclusion: Advocates of compact and low-priced netbooks had to wait for a long time for an outdoor suitable device with a good resolution . The HP Mini 5101 is one of the first models that have a WSVGA screen with an HD resolution of 1366x768 pixels in a 10.2 inch format, and this with an eye-friendly, matt display surface . Because the screen brightness is also alright, there shouldn't be any restrictions as to mobility.
  • Pros: Robust case, Good image quality with VGA port, Typing-eager keyboard, Matt display with a high resolution, Useable sound rendering, That the thought of mobility is finally also supported in consideration of the display. Good brightness, working suitable resolution and a matt display surface fit for outdoor use. The HP Mini 5101 makes that what should be standard in netbooks to an exceptional talent.
  • Cons: No digital image output/docking option, Merely 12 month warranty ex-factory, Touchpad needs getting used to, Permanently existent fan, A bit more business in the "business netbook". For instance, a docking port, an ExpressCard slot or even extensive security features would have been appropriate. Otherwise: A software update for fan control

HP Mini 5101

PC Magazine
9 September 2010
  • Conclusion: The HP Mini 5101 is much improved version over HP's previous netbooks, but you'll have to pay extra for many of its fringe benefits—if they become available.
  • Pros: Very attractive metallic chassis. 95-percent keyboard is right up there with those on the top netbooks. Mouse buttons are quiet. Bevy of options, including an "HD" resolution, 3G, SSDs and 7,200 rpm HDDs. Good performance scores. 802.11n wireless capability.
  • Cons: Options can bring up the cost significantly and aren't available for purchase yet.

HP Mini 5101 Review

Digitaltrends
19 November 2009
  • Excerpt: Businessmen don’t use netbooks. Sure, all-day battery life would be nice for those long flights. They do fit awfully nice in most briefcases, too. And the Intel Atom is more than enough for Firefox, Excel and Skype. But the humble netbook has always been plagued by an image problem. They look cheap, and that’s not the impression an executive wants to exude when he lays his laptop down on the walnut conference room table.
  • Pros: Durable and attractive matte black finish, Sturdy magnesium chassis, Drop protection and other business add-ons, Respectable performance, Superior battery life (with optional six-cell battery), Reasonably priced
  • Cons: Clammy fingers stick on glossy trackpad, Average keyboard

HP Mini 5101 (FM978UT) Review

LAPTOP Magazine
23 July 2009
  • Summary: In the price-competitive world of netbooks, $425 is a lot to pay for a system whose battery life falls an hour and a half short of those that cost $75 less. However, in the Mini 5101, HP gets a lot of things right: its business-rugged design makes this netbook more durable than consumer-focused systems, and its performance is better than the majority of the netbooks on the market. It also has convenient security tools.
  • Pros: Stylish, durable design, Comfortable keyboard, Excellent performance, Good audio
  • Cons: Touchpad has too much friction

HP Mini 5101

ZDNet
8 September 2009
  • Summary: HP's biz-minded Mini 5101 is a successor to the Mini 2140 (one of our all-time favourite netbooks). It looks and feels great, but for a premium-price netbook, we expect to get more features, not fewer.
  • Pros: Revamped version of one of our favourite netbooks, Excellent keyboard and touch pad, Sturdy and durable, Includes accelerometer, Optional higher-resolution display
  • Cons: Loses its ExpressCard slot, Standard netbook components at a premium price

Análisis del Netbook HP Mini 5101

Notebookcheck.es
25 July 2012

Análise do Netbook HP Mini 5101

Notebookcheck
25 July 2012
