Summary: This unit came without a hard drive but functioned OK. I was able to get an image from a similar model onto a 1T hard drive which I installed in the unit. Ran the image and everything came up perfect except for the WiFi adapter which was different. Got the right driver from HP site, installed it and then found that the USB port to the right side was not functioning. Opened up the unit to find the cable was not connected.
Summary: Great laptop. Have had minor bugs over years but have always been fixed. When you buy warranty and have major problem with laptop, it takes a month or so to get it fixed and returned. Transfer files so you never lose time.
Summary: This is my personal computer and my work computer and has been for 5 years now. I am amazed that a computer that cost me 500 has lasted me longer than laptops that have cost 1500. Granted, battery sucks, but I rarely use it off the charger, anyway. I upgraded to 8 gigs of ram and every 2 years I do a fresh install. Everything is perfect with this thing, even after all these years.
Summary: I have owned this computer for almost 3 years, and even since I purchased it, it had severe issues with streaming from the internet. It does not respond after maybe 30 seconds of even a YouTube video, and slows the entire computer down. What is interesting is that it has no issues with playing audio/video from the hard drive itself, but as far as playing videos online, it is virtually impossible to watch an entire online video without it causing massive problems with...
Summary: I have had it for 3 years and it started giving my problems as soon as warranty was up. It is slow, the fan its very loud, the USB ports don't usually work, I have to take the battery out each time I turn it on, when I close the laptop instead of sleeping it shuts down, the scroll on the touch pad doesn't work, it is really heavy and hurts my back to carry around for school, using microsoft office gives it a head ache and won't work.
Summary: I purchased my G72 over a year ago and it has and is serving me well. I use wifi and dial up internet services and this laptop handles them both great. I take it to work in the oilfield whenever I need to finish projects and it performs great in harsh conditions. I recommend the G72 as it gets the job done. I have had no problems with it and will continue to use it at home, work and on the go.
Summary: It's a Great laptop. I have loved using the laptop but I am glad I got the warrant with it because I did find out that the mouse pad it bad. After using it for a while the mouse pad start going crazy and you lose control of your mouse. It is almost as if it is overheating. I need to send it in the have it fixed. If I did not have the warrant, I would be rather upset.
Summary: We've had our G72 for about 3 years now. ***Love*** the screen, big and bright. Batteries last "ok". (gotta run that big a** display...) Like the soft-clicky keyboard, which would be perfect IF the space bar didn't keep falling off!! (and we do not abuse our keyboard!) Speaking of the keyboard, bought this type model so we'd have the 10-key on the right, (I use it ALL the time.) and lots of real estate for wrists.
Summary: The service from Blinq and the price was awesome. For $300 ish dollars this is a great deal. However this PC has some definite issues. The pros are the hardware specs. The i3 processor, 7200rpm hard drive and the 17.3'' bright view display. Ethernet port and card reader. Comes with a dvd writer. Its got a robust feel. Its plastic build, but a good plastic build, it has a nice texture, so no smudge marks. The cons are, a s***ty, s***ty touch pad.
Summary: Ive had this laptop for several years and then it started to began to charge and discharge the battery, I thought I have it fixed on my own, but the problem continues to show up every few weeks.
