Summary: I purchased this computer Oct 2010. I could never get the sound to work, even with help from customer service. It has needed service 3 times. The sound has stopped working at all. The final straw was I don't understand how, but my screen had a crack in it when I opened it one morning.
Summary: I have always had HP computers but never a laptop. I was excited to purchase the G71 but have a lot of trouble getting online and have to constantly reset the computer to an earlier time. It freezes and when I do get online I can't open emails.

Summary: Another one with cracked screen!! I have owned this laptop for six months. It has been used as a desk top replacement and has never left my house. I do not have children at home that may have accidentally knocked it off my deck.
Summary: What an awful product. Avoid this laptop and HP. My screen died after 6 months. What is worse? They want to charge me $390 to repair it. Customer service is polite but clueless. Obviously based somewhere in India. The laptop never left my office.
Summary: I am very disappointed in this laptop. I thought it would be very fast with 4ghz ram but it is very sluggish. I could run many more programs with XP on my ancient Gateway. I've been though the blue screen of death a half dozen times already.
