Summary: What a waste of money. Within about a week of it's guarantee expiring, the delete button fell off. The screen also went blank and I had to get it replaced at my expense. The hard-drive died one day and was totally irretrievable.... I wouldn't have minded losing the cost of the computer except that it died in such a way as to take all my files with it. If you buy one, or already own one - make sure you back everything up reguarly on a disc or stick!
Excerpt: My hp G60-244dx died after only 16 months. It started out getting hot after only a few months. I called hp customer service and they gave me some troubleshooting tips. I should have sent it back to them then. At 16 months it started shutting off after only 5 or 10 minutes. I use a cooling pad but it doesn't help. I took it to the shop and they said It would cost too much to repair it. I had a toshiba for 10 years. I'll stick to Tashiba.
Summary: Do not purchase this item, look elsewhere. If you are the type that only uses a laptop to surf the internet or check e-mail and nothing else then it might be a suitable option, but for all the features it has, it is pretty useless. You will incur problems, it overheats too fast, the hard drive and system board equipped in this laptop are not very stable, be prepared to send your laptop out for multiple trips to repair shops if you buy it.
Summary: I have had this laptop for about a year and a half. HP has gained my hate over the years and this product is probably the worst product I have ever bought in my life. First of all, HP put the intake fan on the bottom of the laptop, which causes the intake fan to become clogged very quickly. This causes the laptop to literally overheat to the point that you get the Blue Screen of Death and have to restart it after it cools.
It doesn't boot up after 1 and a half year after purchase
31 August 2011
Summary: The battery doesn't work a few months after I bouth it. Everytime, it fails to boot up. I have to do a hard booting. I take off the battery out of the machine. A big problem happened recently. It would never boot up again after many times of hard reset. I am aftaid it is because the battery is not inside, and after several sudden abnormal shutdowns, some hardware is broken. I have to send it to the repair shop and am waitting for the big charge for it....
Summary: I've had nothing but issues with this product. The DCD/CD drive won't read discs, the hard drive has crashed twice, and I wasn't able to install Microsoft office on it without taking it to a local shop. I use it for basic home business and finance work and am already looking to replace it.
Summary: ...please read this. I purchased this laptop on a low budget which is a choice I will not make again. I failed to look at a laptop reliability chart before purchasing this computer and it shows HP as the least reliable laptop manufacturer. I have had this laptop for less than 2 years and it is failing. After 3 months of purchase, the screen inverter became faulty only showing the display if set at certain angles.
Summary: I have had this laptop for a little over a year and it is a piece of crap! The keys fall off, the screen has gone black and the part that connects the screen broke. Do not buy this laptop, its not worth it, unless you want to put more money into it than its worth.
Summary: Like many others, this product has a problem with short battery life. And if that were not enough to complicate matters, the power connector comes loose and now won't recharge the battery at all. And this isn't even the static electricity buildup on the motherboard problem which is itself a nuisance. I've resolved to never buy an HP product again. HP should be ashamed for allowing this on the market!
Summary: I wish i never bought this computer, i have done nothing but taken care of it and it freezes up on me every 10 minutes. I have anti-virus protection on it, so i know there is no viruses on it. Overall its just a pathetic laptop with no viruses and it takes ten or fifteen minutes just to start up or to do anything.
