Summary: Very little mention of the version of Windows installed. Look hard, and all you can find is "Windows 8". What they don't tell you is that it is the cheap version of Windows and it needs to be upgraded to Pro if you want to join it to your domain. This system is not intended for business purposes. "Top of the line" - hardly.
Summary: This the first Ultrabook that I have purchased. I specked the 14 in screen because I travel and wanted a size compatible for traveling. I am replacing a 13 in laptop, this screen was too small as I got older. The only thing I am not happy about is not having a replaceable battery but all the UB laptops seemed to be the same as far as the battery options. I have not taken advantage of the USB 3.0 ports (still have USB 2 devices).
Summary: This laptop extremely slow, at start up and with operation. Problem slow Hard Drive, more then 5MB paging it become very slow and takes a several minutes to complete some tasks. If you plan use Windows 8, I advice to buy laptop with SSD hard drive or at least with Hybrid drive.
Summary: Pretty self explanatory - the laptop completely crashed, and the end result was that I had to send it back to HP. HP Support then tried to charge me $80 for shipping costs - which is a sham, since it was shipped to Tennessee from Chicago. Finally they relented and agreed to cover shipping costs. Still waiting for the laptop after two weeks. Will keep my fingers crossed that it has been fixed and will function.
Excerpt: If you want a laptop that downloads things you are used to, watch out, chromebook only lets you go through its app store. This computer blocks everything not a sales tool for itself. I am not a techie and chromebook is a problem to navigate.
Summary: This laptop would have received an excellent rating however it came with Windows 8.0 No problem, so I thought - download the automatic upgrade to 8.1.... Seven hours later, after 11 further attempts and having accessed literally hundreds of websites researching the problem (HP support is non-existent - and one of the websites referencing the error generated by the upgrade showing that it had been accessed over 10,000 times!).
Summary: I have owned this product for about a month now and I must say it is a great product with few problems. The build quality and design of the laptop is great and it feels very sturdy while still feeling extremely light at the same time. There is keyboard flex but you can hardly notice it. The touchscreen on the laptop works just marvelous. Though, the trackpad can be a little too sensitive at times. It will take some time to adjust to.
Summary: I bought a new laptop cause my old one was giving me problems every other day and I had to spend hours at a time to try to get it back to work. I'm a student and spent a lot on this laptop so that I could concentrate more on my work and stop worrying about these problems, and this laptop just made it worse. This laptop keeps bringing up new issues almost every day or every half a day.
