The worst experience in my whole life with a laptop

Summary: So I bought this laptop more or less 8 months ago. Since week 5 the adapter (charger) starter bothering it keeps saying it's not pluged in eventhoug it is. So I have to slam it super hard in to the laptop and then it really works. 2 months later the laptop started bothering with a problem with the hard drive; I sent it to warranty repair and eventhough I told them to fix the charger issue and the hard drive issue they only fixed the hard drive and completely ignored the...
Summary: Love the Laptop but I bought for my wife and need W8.1 as it has a start button and looks more Windows 7 like. HP is telling me W8.1 is garbage and do not update and just stay with Windows 8. This is not an acceptable answer and I am working with a HP case manager to resolve matter.
Summary: Ok first let me say that I bought this in May, and for the six months I was happy (even mildly so with Windows 8). But it has become an extremely expensive paperweight. Out of the blue, it will not start up properly, rendering the entire computer inoperable. I had never downloaded anything other than Office and I don't do any possibly harmful web surfing, so this is not a malware issue.
Unstable Wireless Connection, Defective Touchpad, and horrible HP Customer Service

Summary: First, the wifi connection for the HP laptop is unstable. I have a three year old Toshiba laptop and it can easily connect to the wifi. My son plays a game called League of Legends, when he plays, it crashes almost every other time because there was no connection. Also doing any work on this laptop has to be about 10 feet near the router to actually be partially stable. Second, the touchpad for the Spectre XT is defective.
Summary: Absolutely unsolvable DPC/latency spikes with this machine. When I say that I spent well over a month troubleshooting and tweaking the OS to resolve the problem, I mean it. Nothing worked. I even installed Windows 7 on there, so the same deplorable results. DO NOT BUY for DJ use. I bought a MacBook Pro and am happily running Windows 7 on it. For details, see my post at the Native Instruments Traktor forum: [...
The most sub-standard electronic device I've ever used! Returned the laptop after getting it repaired 2 times by HP Support
29 September 2013
Summary: I bought this laptop 8 months back for $1250, and could not use it for more than a month during these 8 months. First, the WiFi was getting disconnected every 5 mins. I spent long long hours with HP Support on call to get the issues resolved. Finally, I was asked to send the laptop to HP for repair! I got the laptop back with the wireless issue fixed (they replaced the antenna) but with a new problem! The system would show a blue screen once the laptop is unlocked.
Summary: tl;dr this laptop is terrible, don't buy it. This laptop was terrible. I purchased it at a retail Microsoft Store because I do UI art/production art work for a Microsoft Vendor and I wanted a laptop with an IPS display. To it's credit, the display did look really good (albeit glossy, but pretty much all IPS displays are). From day one, I was having some weird performance issues that are hard to describe and difficult to recreate.
Got a lemon from Eluktronics and stuck with a BRICK.

Summary: Within 2 weeks of receiving this marvelous top-of-the-line computer, problems started happening: 1. The the lower right corner of the screen popped out from the lid (i.e., no longer sitting flush to the lid. I only noticed it because I happened to be working in a dark room at the time and light was leaking from the corner. 2. The W and CTRL keys started to become unresponsive. I notified Eliktronics, but they told me to call HP.
Summary: My first major complaint with the laptop is Windows 8. After giving it a while, I've decided that it isn't just a learning curve - I hate it. Unfortunately HP does not support downgrading to 7, and attempting to do it myself seems to have completely bricked the machine (the restore process hung and now the "startup" screen won't even come up.) I'll waste a bunch of time with HP tech support, but I just wish I had not foolishly tried another HP laptop.
Summary: This is laptop look amazing and that about it. For $1200 it has so many negative things that i would be disappointed even if it was $600. First the fan noise! It is absolutely ridiculous how fast fan starts working and how nosiy it is. Even after regural internet surfing more than 5 minutes it starts "working" and the noise is like an old refrigerator. I can't imagine what would be if you want to play some game.
