Summary: When I bid on mine, I failed to notice that it does NOT have a DVD read/write drive, nor does it have a network port. Fortunately, I have a spare USB external drive. I needed it to load much of my software. The lack of a network port is another problem. It forces me to leave on the wifi connection at all time. I've also had to add a USB webcam because the onboard cam is focused at an odd angle. Other than that, it's fast and responsive.
Summary: Didn't have an instruction manual with it. Windows 8 is not easy to use and it wasn't touch screen. Bought as a gift for my daughter who is fairly tech savvy, and she was uncomfortable using it. Returned the item. Seller imposed a 20% restocking fee!
Summary: Bought this for about 400 bucks on special from a big box retailer (hint, the initials are in the model number). Out of the box, the performance is middling at best. The design is nice and sleek, and the laptop is light and easy to carry. Upgrading is easy (remove screws on bottom) - added a Samsung 840 250GB SSD and 16GB of DDR3; and it benches better than most gaming laptops.
Summary: I love it! I had to do a RAM upgrade (16GB) and install a backlit keyboard (I know it DIDN'T come with one!?) I also install an SSD. Now for less than $400 I have a sleekbook that can play Starcraft 2 on ultra, and is comparable to my friends $1600 Gigabyte Ultrabook. It's still more stylist too!
Summary: This laptop is way beyond my expectation. Before bought this laptop, I had a Dell Inspiron 17R-6472DBK. Since the Dell 17R is so heavy and slow for my daily use, I have to buy a affordable new laptop. I only spend 580 on this one. And the performance is just great. This laptop is thin and light. And compare to my wife's HP ultrabook, the screen is bigger and much more clear. The 15" LED screen is bright and clean. I don't know what to say. Thanks to the technology.
Summary: Shipping was super fast and this item worked perfectly to replace the screen I accidentally cracked when I stepped on my wife's laptop. Very easy to install as well; the only thing I would have changed is to provide customers with new adhesive for the surround/trim piece, as that is hard to reuse.
