Summary: Okay, I've had this piece of junk for a couple of years, I guess. It has lots of power, memory, & disc space, which was important to me, but it is also pretty unreliable. It freezes up fairly frequently and I have to unplug it and remove the battery to kill it, and then reboot.
Summary: Loved the display and the audio. I even got used to Win 8. But the hard drive is gone after only 16 months. Maybe I just got a bad one but I am very disappointed right now. (No I didn't buy the extended warranty. Lesson learned.)
Summary: I have been billed for 2 of these machines. I only received one....but the Amazon retailer billed me for 2? I've contacted those concerned and requested a refund on the non-existent HP ENVY. We'll reserve judgement until we receive correspondence from the retailer.
Summary: I was in awe while reading the hardware specs of this machine. It had everything I wanted and more from the SSD and 1080 display to the back-lit keys. Delivery was fast (4 days from Texas to Illinois) and it came in factory-original packaging. On a performance basis, it performs incredibly fast.
Summary: I am typically an HP fan - still am really. But this computer arrived with an intermittent state of being locked up. Amazon was easy to deal with - they returned ALL money and paid for the return shipping. I can only regret the loss of time - I bought another HP laptop - it is working great.
Summary: I am not enjoying Window 8 whatsoever. Also, the computer is loaded with junk and has to stay very close to the router to pick up a wireless signal. On a good note, the picture quality is excellent.
Summary: I am a believer in HP's DV7 line-up, but I am very, very disappointed in Eluktronics (fulfilled by Amazon) advertising methods. The DV7 I ordered was advertised as "new", but from the second I looked at the laptop box, I noted that something was a bit off. The sealing tape looked odd.
Summary: The laptop came with a different (cheaper) wireless card than specified in the description which would not connect with my wireless network. The seller blamed the manufacturer. They offered to accept a return but would not say if there would be restocking fees (never responded to the email).
Summary: Defective product. Returned for refund. Problem with operating system. Keep directing me back to keyboard setup screen every time computer started or after computer wake up . Not to mention unhappy with vendor. Paid for expedited service and product took 10 days to arrive.
I'm having so many issues with the HP updating programs
12 April 2013
Summary: The computer asked me to update some programs to "improve" performance and its been frozen for the past 4 hours...so frustrating. Also, when I got it had some finger prints on the screen so I don't know if someone got it before me and it didn't work....
