Summary: Pros: Nice sleek look. Cons: The annoying fan sound that will come after a few minutes, seriously it sounds like one of those OLD pc's. HINGES will break, just found out on HP forums that this is a very common defect, it will happen, and it will cost you good money to change.
Summary: Ok, so I apparently did what the other reviewer Timothy K Ramey did in not reading all reviews first before my purchase. He posted is review Feb. 2013 and I bought my HP Envy in April 2013 and my experience regarding the laptop is identical. First thing was the annoying space bar that I would have to keep pressing in order to get it to work.
Used? Sleekbook and Poor PR - charging the customer to return a red herring.

Summary: I received my HP Sleekbook to discover it was far from "sleek". Not only was this machine heavy, it looked used and was defective. First, the box looked faded and was duct taped closed. Not one, 6 x 4 inch strip.....I mean taped with 4 feet of tape. I immediately fired it up, hoping to design a syllabus for an up coming class I would be teaching,. To my dismay, the space bar worked 40-50% of the time!

Summary: If you need anything in computers go find a different company. HP does not back up their product and will not help you once your warranty expires. They even blew off soldiers in action in Iraq it appears from all the information I have gleaned from people who invested in HP electronics that none of them were satisfied with the product. Their products last about 2 years and then expect to buy new ones quality is not a Mark of an HP.. Olh you can get help if you reenlist.
Summary: The left hinges will break within the first 6 months. At first I thought I broke it. But then I got it fixed and it happened again in the same amount of time. This would have a been a great laptop rivaling Macbooks but this serious design flaw cannot be overlooked. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP! DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!
Summary: Look up reviews on this laptop. My wife and i bought it and within the first year the left hinge broke. Luckily hp replaced it for free. Unfortunately, the same exact thing happened again within four months! Now it's out of warranty. Don't buy this laptop.
Summary: It's a nice enough laptop, to be honest, if I didn't have the same problem over and over. I bought the Sleekbook in September 2013. The screen has separated from the keyboard twice in less than 18 months. It's still functional: I just can't actually close or open it or take it anywhere, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a laptop (especially since I am a writer). It first broke in August 2013, so it was still under warranty.
Summary: The hinge problem is extremely common, just check the forums. Both of hinges on mine broke after little more than a year of gentle use. Prior to that, there were keyboard issues(just like the other reviewer wrote, the space bar had to be pressed just so for it to register, very inconvenient when trying to type fast)and the notebook badly overheated as well. This is an incredibly attractive notebook, but is just not designed well. HP was no help at all.
