Not performing well at all

wingnut5, Hewlett-Packard

  • Summary: I have had this laptop for less than a month, but so far it has been a real disappointment. Today alone, it froze up on me 4 separate times while I was doing simple tasks, and I could not proceed any further. I had to shut down, restart and begin my tasks from the very start. It freezes up a lot when I hit a drop-down menu and select a choice. And when I select an e-mail to read.

Not recommended!!!!

Comp1, Hewlett-Packard

  • Summary: I have had a total of 3 replacements on this computer. The track pad is very unreliable and makes the pointer flicker across the screen. On two of the computers the hard drive was also very loud. This indicates to me failure in the near future. On all three replacements the left side of the keyboard has a flexing issue. Even if you barely touch a key on the left you will see the whole left side flex up and down. This also happens to be very annoying while typing too.

  • Summary: The computer so far is fine. But I have spent most of my time getting used to Windows 8.1. It is really unfair to judge the computer at this stage. I did watch a video last night and was a little disappointed with the quality of the picture.

  • Summary: This laptop is amazing. It's not a solid hard drive, but boot time only needs 12 seconds. Cooling system also works well. Keyboard is OK.

Nice processor, slow hard drive

GradStudent22, Hewlett-Packard

  • Summary: PROs: The processor is very fast for a laptop. Good value. Lightweight. Full HD Neutral: The screen isn't as bright as some other laptops I've seen. CONs: When I look at the task manager, the disk is almost always at 100%. This means the basic bottleneck of the computer is the Hard Drive. For a laptop to have such a good processor and a decent graphics card, it makes no sense to have a slow 5400 rpm hard drive. HP should up the price $15 and put in a 7200 RPM drive.

Great for gaming and everyday applications

  • Summary: I bought a Envy 15t-select because I am going to start school in October. I am a avid gamer and had to get rid of my tower. I have always built my computers as it had enabled me to know and trust what I was putting in my rig. I had been looking for laptops for over 2 months. My good friend had gotten a Envy 17 slim version. I wanted a similar machine to be able to squeeze as much power as I possibly could get out for my needs.

Bang for the buck, mediocre quality, poor design

MikeyG24365, Hewlett-Packard

  • Summary: I would give this laptop an overall rating of 2.5 stars if possible. It is a decent blend of computing horsepower and budget. It is, however, hindered by quality issues and poor design choices. Pros: (+) Impressive configuration considering the low price point. Intel Core i7-4710HQ (4 cores, 8 threads), Intel HD4600 integrated video, 12 GB DDR3L RAM, 1 TB 5400 RPM HDD w/ solid state cache, 1920x1080 display (non-touch). (+) Programs execute fast once loaded from HDD.
