Summary: Using a micro usb drive for the boot partition to make it accept a raid array holding the os. (Hp locked the feature out but it was easy as copy/paste in gparted) it's a beast in raid btw There is no lid on the cpu so don't expect to delid the i7. I wish the cooling were adequate. But really it is.
Pros: 1year later. Going strong. Love it. Running 2ssd in RAID0 (I know it's not better, [but it is]) Changed the thermal paste and saw a 3-4*temp drop. Overclocked in Intel xtu to 3.6 single core and 2.4 on 2-4 active cores. Running16 gb 2133 -cl11 gskill ram. No probs. everything is as fast as it can...
Cons: Only newest Linux has drivers for wireless adapter It's not the most durable. Can't boot from raid array! Wth man!?
Summary: the best laptop i have ever used, since 2013 dec i used it every day for at least 10hrs a day it never showed any problem. and for the first time it fell from 4 feet on the ground it just lost T N keys and a screw thats it.. no sign of dammage, but hard to find keys that match for this model.
Summary: OK, I got this ting in 08 I think, still using it, gorgeous screen and love the all metal design. The keys on the far left of the keyboard I remapped to be left and right mouse clicks using AutoHotkey, check that out, love it. The track pad is the best I have ever used.
