Great purchase; great gift for work

EliK, Costco
  • Summary: My wife bought this computer for me. I intend to use it largely for work. The touch screen is great. I have had many issues with touch mouse pads. The touch screen makes it easy to navigate and use the computer. The backlit keyboard makes it easy to type at night and in darkened environments. I anticipate this will be a great work computer.
  • Pros: touchscreen is awesome. no more faulty touch pads backlit keyboard is great at night fast computer
  • Cons: a little heavier than anticipated a/c power adapter connector seems very flimsy

Great laptop

  • Summary: It's a great laptop I really enjoy it! The only down side is that the battery life lasts only about 2 hours when all I'm doing is taking notes for my class! The touchpad feels a little cheap and the backlit keyboard is not as bright as I thought. Also delivery took FOREVER!
  • Pros: great laptop touch screen very fast
  • Cons: long delivery short battery life some cheap features

Critical faulty functioning

PanNicked, Costco
  • Summary: This is the 2nd HP Envy laptop I've returned over the last few years. Seemed like a good price for the memory, speed, etc. but you get what you pay. I'll list just the critical problems that have made me lose hair and lifespan: The mousepad is very large and the multi-function idea of this large pad is experimental at best - a failure, HP.
  • Pros: price
  • Cons: mech problems - malfunctioning fan bad (large ineffective) mousepad poor battery life poor screen angle visibility

No disable touchpad button anymore.

dcward, Amazon
  • Summary: Love everything about it except they took away the button to disable the touchpad. The control zone touchpad mouse is big and it is extremely difficult to type without touching and re-positioning the cursor while you are typing. I'll be typing along and notice that my typing has jumped to the middle of the page because I touched the ultra sensitive touchpad.

poor keyboard, touchpad and finger print pw design

pcuser1, Costco
  • Summary: Initially did not realize this usability effect. But after months of using and found it is very bad usability design! The touch pad is oversized and frequently affecting the key typing. Also the finger print device right under your palm and sometime triggers pw input prompts.
  • Pros: may be the price discount
  • Cons: poor usability keybard/touchpad/fingerprint device
