Summary: I bought this in Best Buy for my daughter, after researching a lot about what is currently available. Most current ultrabooks/thin-and-light 13-14" laptops have several very serious problems compared to ENVY m4. Pros of ENVY m4: 1) Enough memory - 8 GB in this laptop is good, most ultrabooks have 4GB, graphics built-in uses some of that memory (up to 1.5GB), the rest is used by Windows 8 64-bit (and free Windows 8.1 update soon to be released will undoubtedly use even...
Summary: I can't really review on a technical point of view because I'll just make an a$$ of myself, so here is the point of view from just your average girl that bought a notebook: I turn it on and it boots up fast. I can open tons of pages and nothing slows it down. I have thousands of songs on here and still have room to put more.
Great value, but for the price, some things are missing

Summary: Great little laptop - i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive. Runs well, performs great. That being said, for the price, there's some things missing: no Bluetooth and no discrete graphics. If you're going to spend this much, the Samsung Series 7 Chronos is the better value. Don't get me wrong, I like this computer... but if you need a dedicated graphics card and Bluetooth, you'd be better served looking at the Series 7 Chronos....
Excerpt: While I am just now beginning to log some time on this machine, it's a very pleasent expereince. The screen really is fantastic. I really dislike to recent display trends that have us staring at a 1366x768 resolution, it's quite frustrating. So the 1600x900 is a really big deal. The monitor...
Summary: The courier is fast, I received the laptop in three days time. I have used HP Envy 14 for more than two weeks, almost everything is up to my expectation currently. Startup and shut down speed of this laptop is fast, and it does not have any overheat issue. It is light-weighted and came along with slim travel charging adapter, so I can bring it to travel easily. The keyboard back-lit function is cool, I like it very much.
Summary: I have the laptop since about a month. I purchased it since my brother has a DM4 and was very happy with it. The PC is being used mainly by my wife and I didn't get any complaints so far except for the weight... This laptop feels substantially heavier than other 14" laptops. I don't know whether it's because of the improved speakers.. but anyway, it IS heavy... In addition, the external design is not that "WOW" since the carvings on it are not that bold or clear.
Summary: This was purchased to replace a HP DV-5. This notebook had several appeals that enticed me want to try it; the backlit keyboard and the included Photo Shop software. Upon getting and using the computer for a couple months there are something's that are amazing and a few bothersome things that could be improved. Pros: This notebook is genuinely built of hard quality material and you can feel that it will hold up for a long time.
Premium design and features, but may be a bit too big for some...

Summary: The HP Envy series has always been regarded as one of the best premium Windows laptops and this model is no exception. Make no mistake you will feel proud of this laptop's design. It is absolutely first-class. However, keep in mind it is a bit on the big side. While a little over an inch thick may not seem hefty, in practice I found when closed the laptop still seems a bit chunky. It doesn't help it's also pretty hefty in weight thanks to the all metal construction.
Summary: After many reviews and thorough searching for a good deal, I finally purchased my Envy over a month ago. I am very pleased with my purchase and loved the overall performance of the components. Only flaw would be the touch pad which doesn't recognize certain actions, but getting a wireless mouse would fix that problem. The design of the Envy is sleek, and the performance is top notch. I was very impressed with the sound card which is Beats Audio.
