Summary: I like this laptop. It seems very fast and the SSD helps the performance, I wish I had a SSD on my desktop. PROBLEM: 1. The screen doesn't angle back very far. I would like to open the screen further on occasion. POOR SUPPORT: It came with Norton Internet Security pre-installed. However, it expired about a month after I got it. It was supposed to be a 2 year "free" subscription but it was NOT.
Summary: I bought this laptop in thanksgiving deal for 629+tax. I was happy with the speed but wifi never work on this. Spent hrs to configure internet but no luck. Camera quality very poor for this price.
Summary: This is a gorgeous machine. It is slick and very fast. Unfortunately I have been having a problem with the USB ports flaking out since the machine was new. I have tried virtually every fix I have been able to find -- they all have worked, but only in the short run. I am about to turn to the manufacturer for help with this problem. Wish me luck!
Summary: This laptop is like a supermodel with a missing leg. It looks great, works great, but has a major flaw. I had my laptop for a wonderful 6 days before the screen started waving in the left, middle part of the screen. I was replacing my 5yr old VAIO which had developed a loose connection in the monitor so I was NOT pleased when my new $$$$,$$ laptop starting waving at me. I returned it for a full refund.
Summary: Be ware the ac adapter and cable breaks very easily, and you will end up buying another one which is not that easy since they only sell one that is for travel purposes... The compute is not easy to open, but ok.
Summary: I'm having the same problem as another reviewer. Upon opening my new Spectre, a spot on the screen on the left side "wiggles" around, as though I'm pressing my finger onto the screen but without doing so. This laptop also has problems with freezing whenever it wakes up from sleep mode, even after re-installing the operating system twice. I've contacted HP customer support, and the representative was very friendly and assured that they would get the problem fixed.
Summary: Length:: 0:43 Mins This is not a full review of this machine. This is just to point something out on the machine i received as well as the replacement machine that had the same exact issue. I went thru two different machines due to the screen issue in the video. I am not sure if they are all like this or not, but knowing the person that was going to be using this machine (not me) there was no way i could accept this flaw.
Summary: I just received my HP Spectre today. I was fairly impressed with it until I noticed that there's something wrong with the screen: on the left side, near the bezel, something in the lid apparently pushes against the LCD, causing it to display ripples / distortions whenever the notebook is moved (even by typing on the keyboard). The ripples / distortions become more apparent on dark backgrounds.
Summary: I really wish I could give this laptop more stars. I really do. I just received this laptop about 7 hours ago. I built myself up for a hype for something that looked to have great designs and great speed. You know, flawless and what not. But after using it for a little less than half the day, this isn't worth 900, let alone 1300 others paid for this. Part of this review could be a computer that doesn't work properly.
Summary: I was looking at all the pc options for inexpensive laptops with backlit keyboards, and this was one of them. The newer HP Envies either have really big screens, or are overpriced. I am writing this review after 4 days of owning this, and I am going to send it back. There are pros and cons with this laptop. I would have considered keeping it, if I didn't get a blue screen, after only 4 days, and after not running that many programs on it. The good: 1.
