Summary: item was sold used when it was advertised as new. There were no materials in box that were supposed to be there. Disk for 2 years free internet security (missing) no instructions, booklet, anything (missing). Called HP and they said product in not under warranty. Wrong answer. This is the second bad experience I have had purchasing items through Amazon's partners. Ordererd dancing something for my daughters Iphone twice and never came. You did refund that transaction.
Summary: About a week after I got this laptop, it started having overheating issues. It was only occasional, but it has happened throughout my ownership. Without warning, sometimes while the fan is even on, the computer just shuts off. Sometimes I use the computer for hours without problem, sometimes it shuts off after 2 minutes of use. I never contacted HP (or Amazon) because it was only a rare annoyance. I'm currently kicking myself about that.
Summary: I am very pleased with the bells and whistles...backlit keyboard, beats audio. Not so happy with other aspects. You will need to purchase the Microsoft Office Suite...does not come with. I may have 'heavy fingers', but the touchpad closes windows unexpectedly. If anyone knows how I can stop that from happening, please let me know. I have tried going to through Control Panel and have not been able to get it to work the way I want.
Summary: In general, these are pretty nice computers. Slick, relatively solid to the touch, great looks, great keyboard, nice large touchpad, etc. I'm not a big fan of having my palms resting/sweating on glass as I type, and the touchpad can be difficult to move smoothly and right-click. I'm also not a big fan of the sharp edges around the screen, and how fragile the screen and hinges themselves feel. The 1600x900 screen looks wonderful... until it fails; read on.
Summary: I know this item was refurbished.. But as soon as I turned it on and adjusted the screen . I noticed the screen would glitch or cut out if you will. Luckily this item had a year warranty on it. So there fixing the problem for free.. It was just very inconvenient to have to send it off. I still havnt got it back yet. So all in all I thought these guys probebly didn't know about the problem But they should before they sold it to me..
Summary: i probably would like this machine more if i hadn't already worked with the toshiba ultrabooks. This one is way too heavy (now i know you could say the toshiba's are light because they're flimsy, but this thing is shockingly heavy), the fan noise is annoying (it's a SSD so you would assume less fan noise..
Summary: This computer was a big let down and I am sorry I chose it over several other very good possibilities. My biggest complaint is the battery life which has proven to be the shortest of the 4 laptops I have owned, when it should have been the longest, as advertised. At full charge, with all power-saving settings possible, I can only work for maybe 4 hours tops without without having to plug it in. Other issues I have with it are: 1.
Summary: I got this HP Envy a little over a year ago and from the very beginning it was trouble. Having only an hour of battery life while the description HP said it lasted three hours, it frustrated me. Thus, I've made several calls to HP and complained, but in the end I kept this laptop with HP sending me an extra battery. In addition to its terse battery life, this laptop constantly overheats and get so hot that it sometimes burns my skin.
