Summary: I really like this machine. Has a good screen and love the back lit keyboard. Mine has a fingerprint reader that logs me on to windows 7 pro without having to remember my long password and logs me on my PW program as well. I use it with a cooler stand from CoolMaster with 2 movable fans.
Summary: The Elitebook is HP's most powerful mobile computer platform. Our Firm picked two of these up for the office. Our law firm uses document presentation software that requires powerful processing and graphics capabilities, and this computer does the job.
Summary: The 3rd generation Ivy Bridge processor i7-3820QM comes with a 8MB L3 cache (not L2) which is important e.g. for video editing but not for gaming. The GPU Quadro K3000M is a powerful Kepler GPU accepting 2-4 GB GDDR5 memory sufficiently good for handling till 3840x2160 pixels resolution if connected...
Pros: It is HP Powerful CPU Powerful GPU
Cons: I'm really surprised as this product there is not in HP support (?), a notebook which costs above $5,400! HP always have been characterized by its excellent support, so I can't understand how this expensive notebook does not appear at HP official site.
Summary: I've had my HP EliteBook 8770w 17.3 for almost 6 months now. I ordered it as a customized unit directly from HP - they shipped it from the plant in China right to my door (which made FedEx tracker watching pretty interesting).
Summary: You would only buy this laptop if you need a 64 bit workstation with a high resolution screen that you can pick up and take with you. I do need that - and it had to be Windows based because of the solids modeling software I run.
Summary: I use this notebook to manipulate extremely large 3D laser point cloud files. Mine has 16GB of RAM but it otherwise stock. It works great. It is an expensive notebook, but it really does replace a desktop.
