Review Update HP EliteBook 8570w LY550EA-ABD Notebook

  • Summary: AMD Elite graphics. HP offers the Elitebook 8570w mobile workstation in several configurations. This one is a combination of the Intel Core i5-3360 CPU, AMD’s professional FirePro M4000 graphics and the mandatory Full HD screen. This is certainly not the ultimate hardware money can buy, but for an affordable workstation, we try to evaluate its suitability.
  • Pros: Very good keyboard inc. backlight, Good battery runtimes, Decent system performance, Very good CAD performance depending on the application, Very good expandability and connectivity, Very low temperature development, The AMD FirePro M4000 is a good alternative for many applications at an attractive price.
  • Cons: Manufacturing flaws in the test device, Unusable Intel's HD Graphics 4000, Loud operating noise during load, Moderate interface positioning, Automatic switching to Intel HD Graphics 4000 could provide longer runtimes and take advantage of Quick Sync.

HP EliteBook 8570w Notebook Review: The Other Side of the Coin

AnandTech
18 December 2012
  • Conclusion: As much as I adore the current aesthetic HP is employing with their enterprise class notebooks, their design may have run into a bit of a wall with the EliteBook 8570w. Build quality remains solid, the keyboard and touchpad are both excellent, and I still love how easy the access panel is to remove. There are a lot of really smart design cues included with the 8570w, and HP is the only company offering a 10-bit IPS panel in a 15.6" form factor.

  • Conclusion: The HP Elitebook 8570w carries HP's three-year standard parts and labor warranty, including Elite telephone support (available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year). As configured for this review, its list price is $2,786. Before we answer our initial question of how this year's system compares to last year's model, we must note a major difference between the two: the older HP Elitebook 8760w had a 17.3" display with DreamColor technology, while the newer one has a 15.6"...

Review HP EliteBook 8570w Notebook

Notebookcheck
13 November 2012
  • Summary: The contender. The EliteBook 8570w is a premium notebook designed to compete in the high-performance realm of professional workstations. Our review model doesn't feature top-of-the-line components, however - it's equipped with an Intel Core i5 CPU, Nvidia Quadro K1000M GPU, and a HD+ display. Can this less powerful version of the series stand up to its competition?
  • Pros: Premium (and very sturdy) chassis, Very good keyboard, Long battery life, Good display, Very good overall performance, Easy to expand; good port selection, Runs cool, The superb chassis, the plethora of ports, and the decent performance.
  • Cons: Price-performance ratio of the review model is not the best, No Nvidia Optimus - shorter battery life and higher system noise at low load levels, Fairly noisy hard drive, Keyboard not backlit, Optimus technology so the integrated graphics card can be utilized. A better price-performance ratio for our review model.

  • Conclusion: The PC industry is definitely in a state of transition right now. The biggest trend being underpowered good enough devices such as Chromebook’s (even HP has gotten into the game) or Tablets such as the iPad. The belief is that the days of over powered systems such as the EliteBook are now over.
  • Pros: Robust, Sturdy design, Plethora of features and ports: USB 3.0, HDMI, Firewire, Biometric Reader, eSATA,, Excellent Touchpad with built in gestures and options for easily turning on/off Touchpad, Excellent performance, fast Core i5 CPU with vPro (Core i7 as an upgrade option), nVidia Quadro Graphics and 4 GBs of DDR 3 memory upgradable to 32 GBs., Easy to service and upgrade, Anti-glare display makes it easy on the eyes in environments where there is a lot of light., ...
  • Cons: While sufficient for some persons, I think a hybrid drive would have been a better choice instead of the default mechanical drive. The spinning disk disappoints in certain areas, boot time, read/write., While 4 GBs is enough to get by, 8 GBs of memory would have been a better default option out of the box., No backlit keyboard, difficult to use in low light settings., Although portable, it’s not something you want to lug around with often, 6 pounds is a lot of weight ...

Test-Update HP EliteBook 8570w LY550EA-ABD Notebook

Notebookcheck
18 June 2013

Análise do Portátil HP EliteBook 8570w

Notebookcheck
2 December 2012
