Summary: Good buy! Fast, efficient and good video. Keyboard is viable and more than adequate storage. Built like a tank, but the downside is it is a little heavy. Given that, the attributes far outweigh the single negative.
Pros: Everything! Light weight for the type of screen size you get. Excellent CPU/Memory power! Runs all my high end development and design programs such as Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator in conjunction with Microsoft Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, Office programs such as Visio and Project to...
Cons: As others have mentioned, the keyboard is not backlit... it does have a light that you can flick on and off at the top of the monitor, and that works great. But would have preferred to have a backlit keyboard.
Pros: Fast, quiet, great feel. Should do very well for engineering student at college for four years. Very clear screen, good sound, lots of ports, etc. Everything you need w/o compromise.
Cons: No lighted keyboard, but pop-out LED at top of screen is actually better IMHO. DVD drive tray is a bit thin and thus fragile, but better to have inboard than to require an additional external drive.
Summary: If you're looking for a fast, reliable and stable laptop for work and play this one gets the job done.
Pros: Very fast for both work purposes (VMware, Windows management and running a dozen applications at once). It can take anything you throw at it. If you're into gaming you will not be dissappointed. It'll run BFBC2 and similar games on high settings.
