Good Value

John H. Russell, Amazon
16 October 2014
  • Summary: Good buy! Fast, efficient and good video. Keyboard is viable and more than adequate storage. Built like a tank, but the downside is it is a little heavy. Given that, the attributes far outweigh the single negative.

Excellent laptop for work and play!

Mariza, Newegg
3 September 2011
  • Pros: Everything! Light weight for the type of screen size you get. Excellent CPU/Memory power! Runs all my high end development and design programs such as Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator in conjunction with Microsoft Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, Office programs such as Visio and Project to...
  • Cons: As others have mentioned, the keyboard is not backlit... it does have a light that you can flick on and off at the top of the monitor, and that works great. But would have preferred to have a backlit keyboard.

Very well done notebook

Ed H., Newegg
23 July 2011
  • Pros: Fast, quiet, great feel. Should do very well for engineering student at college for four years. Very clear screen, good sound, lots of ports, etc. Everything you need w/o compromise.
  • Cons: No lighted keyboard, but pop-out LED at top of screen is actually better IMHO. DVD drive tray is a bit thin and thus fragile, but better to have inboard than to require an additional external drive.

Great system

Carol D., Newegg
20 July 2011
  • Pros: Very fast system speedsteps in windows 7 to save major power almost got 4 hours on one battery with this system. Screaming fast cpu and nvidia gpu help crunch drawings, in altrium and 3dmax.
  • Cons: One bios setting WLAN/LAN switching doesn't work kept disconnecting me from both networks after working for 30 minutes. Disabling that makes it work in windows 7 x64bit.

Multimedia machine (wrapped in a Tuxedo)

Adam T., Newegg
4 May 2011
  • Summary: If you're looking for a fast, reliable and stable laptop for work and play this one gets the job done.
  • Pros: Very fast for both work purposes (VMware, Windows management and running a dozen applications at once). It can take anything you throw at it. If you're into gaming you will not be dissappointed. It'll run BFBC2 and similar games on high settings.
  • Cons: None that I've come across
