Summary: I usually never post reviews due to the fact that people feel the need to attack someone that has a different opinion then them but I feel like I should describe my experience with this laptop. My parents bought this laptop for me right before freshmen year began at high school. We were deciding between two different ones but was recommended the compaq presario by the Best Buy sales rep. (Boy that was a mistake.
Summary: Calling this a "computer" is virtually fraud. In order to sell a product, it should at least have a basic set of standards, the first of which is ACTUALLY WORKING. This computer has so little memory that it is virtually useless as a simple word processor. I only (try) to use it to search the internet, check email, type up word documents, and watch the occasional DVD. It crashes half the time trying to do these simple tasks.
Summary: Slowest computer I have ever had the misfortune of operating. While turning it on to write this review, I decided to count how long it took. The result was 21 minutes of a black screen. At 22 minutes, a toolbar popped up asking me about projector options. I do not even own a projector. Then, at about 26 minutes, it loaded my desktop. I clicked on Google Chrome to write this review.
Summary: My grandfather loaned me his Compaq QC62-410US to repair. His main complaint was odd behavior and that it ran too slow. If HP is the garbage in the can outside your house, Compaq is the stuff in a dumpster that hasn't been emptied in a month and is full of used diapers after a dysentery outbreak. While in 2010 having only 2GB of RAM is understandable shipping even a bottom-end computer a single-core processor is a crime.
Summary: The clickers are absolutely terrible. It's one long bar for both the right and left clicks so basically you have to press EXTRA hard to get anything...also, my laptop lasted less than a year before the fan started malfunctioning...its days are numbered now...
