Summary: You are given the option of using the Windows 8 aps or the traditional desktop. I chose the traditional desktop. The problem is, on the traditional desktop the computer reacts to the mouse movement as if you are on the aps desktop. For instance when you move your mouse to the right side of the screen it thinks you are swiping something. If you put your mouse at the top of the screen it puts you into an ap from the other desktop.
Summary: The laptop is not a powerhouse, but it's not expected to be. It's a budget laptop, and it performs as a budget laptop should. However, the data sheet provided by Compaq and prominently displayed on Walmart's webpage indicates that the laptop has two memory slots. In reality, there is only one memory slot. This drastically restricts the ability to upgrade the computer. Had I known that the laptop only contained one memory slot, I would not have purchased.
Summary: I did the hectic wait in line for Black Friday, I mean Black Thursday. Waited for 5 hours. At least we didn't have to wait outside. Testing the product with only 2 gig memory. I like that it came with Windows 8. I decided to purchase more memory. Realized it only had one slot. I upgraded to 8 gig bytes memory. It's alittle faster, but at times, not always, tends to feel alittle sluggish on the videos.
Summary: The laptop was delivered and not signed for by myself, instead it was given to neighbour, who I do not know and no note left to where it was, I had to look on tracking to find out what had happened. And I didn't get the laptop to the following day. Just as well that neighbour was honest.
