EDIT to review - From one star, to three stars

  • Summary: I just want to say to all: do not buy! Compaq isn't even a real company anymore. You go to Compaq site and try to shop for computers, and it redirects to HP site. Yes, HP bought out compaq. But I mean that you don't even see compaqs on HP's site, either. Besides, there's no such thing as AMD Celeron processor! The Celeron was INTEL! So the specs on this item are a LIE. Also, Compaq uses very generic parts. The computer will fail very shortly after ordering it.

  • Summary: You are given the option of using the Windows 8 aps or the traditional desktop. I chose the traditional desktop. The problem is, on the traditional desktop the computer reacts to the mouse movement as if you are on the aps desktop. For instance when you move your mouse to the right side of the screen it thinks you are swiping something. If you put your mouse at the top of the screen it puts you into an ap from the other desktop.

  • Summary: The laptop is not a powerhouse, but it's not expected to be. It's a budget laptop, and it performs as a budget laptop should. However, the data sheet provided by Compaq and prominently displayed on Walmart's webpage indicates that the laptop has two memory slots. In reality, there is only one memory slot. This drastically restricts the ability to upgrade the computer. Had I known that the laptop only contained one memory slot, I would not have purchased.

  • Summary: I did the hectic wait in line for Black Friday, I mean Black Thursday. Waited for 5 hours. At least we didn't have to wait outside. Testing the product with only 2 gig memory. I like that it came with Windows 8. I decided to purchase more memory. Realized it only had one slot. I upgraded to 8 gig bytes memory. It's alittle faster, but at times, not always, tends to feel alittle sluggish on the videos.

  • Summary: Bought this for my girlfriend to replace age old laptop. Nothing wrong with laptop but battery life is appalling sometimes only getting two or max three hours from a full charge.

  • Summary: Battery life not great but good buy for the money. Quite light and looks ok. Touch pad takes a bit of getting used to but instructions are clear and helpful.

The laptop fine, delivery poor.

A. J. Carter, Amazon
1 December 2013
  • Summary: The laptop was delivered and not signed for by myself, instead it was given to neighbour, who I do not know and no note left to where it was, I had to look on tracking to find out what had happened. And I didn't get the laptop to the following day. Just as well that neighbour was honest.
