Summary: I purchased this computer for my wife for nothing more than basic computing. In other words, it was purchased to browse internet and to run basic office products. It cannot even do that without insane load times. . . I have a mid-tier laptop I purchased in 2006 that runs better than this! It is quite frankly an embarrassment to HP to sell. In light of my experience, I may avoid their products all together.
Summary: First of all, I hate it because it has Windows 8. For what I use the computer for, many of my downloads cannot be downloaded because the vendors are not up to speed on Windows 8! Secondly, HP decides to come on line on my machine in the middle of a fine Sunday afternoon and disrupt me. Third, the accents of the attendants at the HP helpline are difficult to undertand. And lastly, it keeps freezing...I have to take the battery out.
Summary: I bought this computer at Walmart on black Friday. I hate this computer it freezes even with the most easiest of task. It freezes on boot up, it freezes when I use the internet, and it freezes no matter what I do. I wish I could have my money back but that isn't going to happen. Please lean from my mistake and spend a little bit more and get something better.
Summary: I stood in line on Black Friday to buy the Compaq Presario Cq58-bf9wm for 4 hours. When I got the computer home, I opened it up to add more RAM;1)there was only one dimm slot when there should be 2.2)I upgraded to a 4gb of RAM and it made the computer freeze and constantly reboot.3)The processor speed is suppose to be 1.33GHz and it's only 1.0GHz.
Summary: this is truly an irritating machine, I will be in the middle of typing and the screen will suddenly zoom in or out. I will be on the internet and the page will disappear. I am not sure what I am doing to make the settings change. It will happen in the middle of typing a sentence. Not yet been able to spend half an hour on this machine without this happening.
