Summary: The main body of the laptop has an exterior hard plastic shell and a strong magnesium alloy inner shell much like its predecessor. The base of the laptop feels very firm, strong, and would definitely survive many bumps and bruises that other laptops might not. There is no flex in the keyboard, nor any other area on the keyboard deck.
Summary: Great laptop. Mine has a Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4GHZ with 8GB of DDR2 and a Quadro 570m. It actually runs most games at reasonable settings at 1920x1080 or lower. The CPU and GPU seem to be staying cool without the fan roaring like a lion. People who complain about the fan noise have dust in the heat-sink which can easily be cleaned with some compressed air.
Great machine, great features, no bloatware! Get it now!

Summary: Absolutely excellent lapotp. Mine has a 2.4ghz dual core, 4gb ram and a 256mb video card, and it runs games and recording applications far better than any other machine i've used yet. I've run Guild Wars 2 at medium specs and still achieved about 30fps. I've also run League of Legends at medium at about 60fps. The features built in are exactly what i was looking for.
Summary: Bought this used laptop as the closest match to my work laptop in order to replace our second computer at home. For the money, this was an excellent PC that more than meets our needs for a "casual use" PC, mostly for webmail, social networking sites and internet browsing. So far, no negatives, only positives.
Summary: I got this laptop last year and was worried that I'd paid too much. My worries were put to rest right away! Not only is the screen amazing but the graphics capability is as well. It really did what it was supposed to do.. Get me away from my desktop. Mine is the Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz model but with the ATI Fire GL graphics card. It has everything you could ask for in any computer, laptop or desktop.
Summary: The power adapter failed within a month. And the hard drive failed after about a year and half. It has also developed a strange problem: sometimes it runs very slow when on AC power and as soon as the AC power adapter is unplugged it runs fine. It is very repeatable; the cpu usage goes up and down as the power adapter is plugged and unplugged. There are discussions on the web by other HP notebook PC users with similar experience.
