Excerpt: I needed a durable, somewhat lightweight laptop for general use at an affordable price. I got this computer at $400 about 1year ago. This model, however, is crica 2007/2008 high end business laptop. I will start with the Pros: 1) excellent screen resolution. 1440 X 900 looks great on this 14.1" screen. I cannot go back to those 1366 X 768 screens anymore. 2) Fast enought for general use and HD video (ie on youtube or netflix).
Summary: Very basic and slow but still excellent value for money. Was originally on Vista but the Windows 7 conversion is fine and setup went without a snag. Struggles a bit with Chrome but that is a ridiculously huge programme.
Summary: The first computer wouldn’t restart it would just shut down then it wouldn’t start till it cooled down. the customer service was very good, they sent a replacement the next day and picked up the faulty one, the second one was better but the webcam doesn’t work, I have decided to keep this one and buy a webcam. the rest of the computer works well and it looks good.
Summary: This notebook would be a good standby but you get what you pay for and the one I got had been around the clock a few times. The font size key didn't work and the type had a habit of increasing and decreasing, ending up with a very odd looking letter. Unless you immediately download virus protection and pop up blocker, it's impossible to use as the entire screen gets blocked. Be aware that returns are not free and cost around £15 to return.
