  • Summary: My first HP, but having bought several refurb'd desktops from Overstock with great success, decided to give this a try. Its primary use is for the managing a website and reunion information, highly portable, adequate screen size (I like huge widescreens, but this works fine), decent performance, great DVD/RW, excellent features. Machine arrived ready to configure, no issues whatsoever, a nice setup.

I might just get another one as well

  • Summary: I paid more for a netbook a couple years ago and it had a smaller screen and was much slower than this HP. This computer is used for audiovisual editing. The screen has good color and contrast. The built-in speakers are OK for a laptop, but I use externals anyway. Battery life is average. But I really don't see a better bang for the buck anywhere and I might buy another one of these to replace another old laptop.

Refurbished??

N/A, Newegg

  • Pros: Easy to disassemble
  • Cons: If this unit was factory refurbished, it would be interesting to know what they did other then attach a label. It would overheat after a short period of use and shut down. It has one heat sink for the CPU and the North Bridge which is very poor engineering and this unit was known for running hot when new. I cleaned a vast amount of dirt from the interior, replaced the heat sink and fan. Also used the best thermal paste available and now the temperatures stay within us...

This laptop is great for what I need it for.

  • Summary: I purched this laptop due to several reasons. 1) I needed a new laptop. 2) This laptop compared to others to choose from was the most affordable and was one limited to windows 7. To many windows 8 out there that are being crambed down our throats. Windows 8 sucks in my opinion. The only thing I dislike about this laptop is the graphics card.

  • Summary: I love this Laptop, speed is phenomenal, it was all set up for me I turned it on and was enjoying it out of the box. This was a replacement my old laptop died. The only thing I don't like is not about this laptop is any laptop its that I'm disabled so my arms rest on the laptop and it causes the laptop display to shut down it comes right back but I need a keyboard and mouse. But overall I highly recommend this laptop. Does everything I need it to do and more.
