Summary: I was very pleased with the this product and it was well packaged and looked like new and worked perfectly. Whenever i decide to purchase another computer, i would surely purchase from this company again.
Summary: Got this as a replacement for another HP that developed a screen problem. Have had it for three years now. On the positive side, it works quite well. It is not for the heavy user, but it will get the job done. On the negative side, it has a tendency to heat up to quite high temperatures, and the battery life is not good. I had to replace it after two years, and the replacement (not genuine HP as HP did not have it) barely lasted a year.
Summary: This laptop is awful if you're looking for something other a machine to surf the web and use Microsoft Office. The battery life is abysmal, at best. 6 months after having this laptop, I couldn't use it without it remaining plugged in. There's no graphics card, it's very poor intergrated graphics which are laughable.

Pros: Reliable brand and components, fast hard drive & FSB, good CPU + CHEAP!!
Summary: I recently purchased the 610 for my daughter. It is perfect even in Windows 7 and to be honest I was offended that no one had left a review for this laptop so I thought I better! It is fast with a high def screen and a crystal clear camera and is very fast with its Intel Core Duo 2 and the graphics are very good. What more could you ask for its a cheerful price and will put a smile on your face. I would definitely recommend the HP Compaq 610 to everyone.

Excerpt: "...World. Why? Why? Why? Apparently HP Compaq do not provide telephone support., or face to face support or support via email or by letter. If you need drivers then they ask you to pay £69.95 even though the drivers were not present when you bought the PC. You need help updating them? No they don't do that either. When ask them where you can find help they refer you to PC World. PCW of course just do not want to know. Why should they? I never bought ...
Cons: Foreign speaking "HELPLINE" . Unhelpful helpline . Absolutely no idea of good customer service .
