Summary: For the money it costs, it's decent. I only use it for school papers and to get online if I have time to kill in class. It runs a little slow but it's also on the cheap side. Decent little computer though if you can't afford much or just want something do papers on. If you need this for everyday work, excessive use or video streaming-go elsewhere.
Summary: I had another laptop that was a dell, knowing it had the same specs and was an HP made me want this one! for less than 300 this was a steal! So far so good and it runs much better than that dell i was using before this one.
Summary: Well, this laptop is horrible. The processor is very slow, and the build quality is horrible. It gets scratched very easily, and the trackpad gets worn (and is also uncomfortable to use). After a while the hinges began to break after the VERY VERY thin plastic under the screen literally snapped. After that the laptop wouldn't pick up any wifi signal unless it was less then 8 feet away from the router.
Summary: Thought I would write a review before I snap it in half. Bought this last summer and "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" Absolutely useless. Had a tight budget and this seemed like the best option at the time...it was not. Don't even consider!
Summary: I recently purchased an HP laptop for my daughter. After I placed the order I was informed the specific laptop that I had ordered was on back order, since I needed the laptop immediately, they offered to upgrade the laptop and shipped it to us via express mail. Their customer service kept me updated through out the process and made sure the Laptop got to us on time. My daughter just received the laptop and is extremely happy with the upgraded laptop.
Summary: Very good buying experience, and I hate to shop!
Pros: Very easy to set up and get started. Wonderful support guides; easy to understand without making user feel an idiot! This is an amazing machine, and seems to do everything (I don't game, so can't speak to that).
Cons: None yet, except it is slightly larger than anticipated (yes, they listed measurements - my bad!). Well worth the size for the great graphics; who needs a TV?
Excerpt: Quite frankly, I was hesitant to buy a laptop from HP because friends were telling me that Dell is the better brand in terms of durability and life span. However, when I saw the specifications and features of CQ40 635-TU, I knew that this is exactly what I was looking for. For a person like me who wants to install so many softwares, a laptop with a 500 GB(5400 RPM) hard drive is just perfect.
