Summary: I have used the machine for a bit over one year and still functioning well. The price was reasonable given that the quality is good. Great speeds with the 2 GB RAM, the speed is very sufficient for my every day to day used. I have enough space to save all of my work. The battery life is about 3-4 hours which is also okay, lower power consumption, the key board is clearly arranged and low system noises.
Summary: I bought this laptop for temporary use when my Thinkpad screen broke and I was waiting to get a replacement screen. I must say for its price, this laptop is a steal. It is fast, strong and works well. It's doesn't have a glamorous design, but who cares, as long as it woks well, I'm ok with it. So far, I haven't had any problems. The display is wonderful, much better than my thinkpad.
Summary: This is an excellent laptop as well as a very good value. I did much research on the web and on foot. I found nothing else in stores or online that was as much computer with equal price. I would recommend this laptop to anyone on a tight budget. Service and prompt shipping made the deal even better.
Summary: I must beg to differ from the positive reviews given so far. Yes, the screen is bright and 16:9 (HDTV aspect ratio); yes, the computer wakes up and works quickly; but basic flaws in the physical layout of the machine make using it often a huge headache. The worst element of the design is the trackpad.
Summary: I BROUGHT HP Promo 620, LAST MONTH AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH ITS PERFORMANCE. I THINK THIS PRODUCT IS ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCE/PRICE RATIO IN ITS CATEGORY. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS VERY HIGH SHIPPING COST TO INDIA.
Summary: I bought 5 of these computers. There's no program to create recovery CD's on any one of `em. There are no CD's included with the computers. I called HP support and talked to multiple people who could not speak or understand english very well. I repeated my product number, serial number, email address and phone number 11 times over 40 minutes to these people before I just hung up in total frustration without any remedy to the problem.
A very nice notebook - HP 620 with Win 7 Pro, 32-bit
25 March 2011
Summary: I like this notebook a lot: it's quite, light, fast, good looking, does not getting hot. The keyboard layout is perfectly fine. The price was $399 when I bought. I added 2GB of memory (easy installation). This notebook is just flying. The wireless connection is stable. I am able to run a lot of my old programs (from Windows XP) because this is 32-bit machine. Also, I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 to practice my .net projects - it's sweet.
