Summary: I opened the box, put the battery where it goes, and started charging it the first day. It charged like a laptop would normally charge. When I turned it on I did the quick set up that comes up on the screen and made a microsoft account. When I got signed on to the computer I cleaned up some apps that I wouldn't be needing. So far I have downloaded firefox and microsoft office on this laptop and everything works perfect.
Excerpt: very very slow computer. my 8 yr old laptop is faster than this. don't ever waste your time and buy this stupid laptop. save your money and buy something a bit more expensive. save time and frustration. trust me. this is not worth the money at all..
Excerpt: My last laptop was dying and had to find an affordable replacement. I think this computer was a good choice. Despite the low cost and its many features, it does have a somewhat cheap feel to it. Not sure if HP was trying to make the laptop lightweight and that was the result. In any case, this product has everything I needed at the right price.
Pros: value, Display Screen, Lightweight, Easy to Set Up, Performance
Summary: This is the worst laptop I've ever owned. It's slower than the four-year-old HP laptop it was supposed to replace. The touchpad doesn't respond well no matter what settings I use, it takes forever to do anything, and it's constantly switching to the Windows 8 start screen when I'm trying to do something on the desktop.
Summary: I bought this as my 9 year old compaq with Vista was out of date - it only has 138 hard drive - I would have never thought that a new computer would make me appreciate my old one so much. This HP was SLOW like molasses slow and crashed ever few minutes. Download speeds on my compaq 20mg on this NEW computer 3-4 MG. HP was 0 help, but Costco Tech Help was awesome. Bringing this one back tomorrow I would rather use my compaq!
