Great laptop, horrible packaging

Teri, Amazon
14 November 2014
  • Summary: Love the laptop -- using it right now -- but the packaging was sparse and the computer was exposed. I was afraid it might have been injured but it seems to be intact without scratches.

Solid gaming laptop

Anna Tursky, Amazon
30 August 2014
  • Summary: So far so good! I bought this computer for college and gaming. Shipping and set up went quickly and smoothly. Battery life is decent for everyday internet use. Performs well (not sure of the frame rate) on intense games like Skyrim and Dishonored without getting overheated, and the HD screen is...

Good performance for the price

Craig, Amazon
16 June 2014
  • Summary: I've had this product about 3-4 months now. I immediately upgraded mine to Windows 8.1 Professional when I got mine, without testing the system first. I point this out because it's possible this was the cause of the subsequent driver issues I had, but I doubt it as I found others with similar...

  • Pros: Good performance/price Solid construction, doesn't feel flimsy I'm fine with the aesthetics, even if the yellow lid is a little loud
  • Cons: Had some quality control issues, detailed below The left and right buttons on the trackpad are one solid piece, I'd prefer distinct buttons or other tactile clues to easily tell where your fingers are on it without looking.

Bad Experience

Zoom, Amazon
1 April 2014
  • Summary: Junk, very disappointed. Spent 2-3 hours on the phone with Tech support, there was an OS driver conflict they refused to resolve and suggested I "simply return" the PC. This is something that should have been resolved long before it was in my lap. Returned it for a refunds, which was also a hassle.

Gigabyte P25X

QQQQ, Amazon
20 March 2014
  • Summary: Tried to find the new notebooks with Nvidia's 800 series GPUs but as stated, they're not available yet. Have been waiting to replace my old 17" workhorse and this will be what it takes for me jump. no more "stunted" shift key! If only there were a way to disable 'tap to click'.

Great 15" Work-Hard Play-Hard Laptop

Trevor Taylor, Amazon
10 March 2014
  • Summary: I've owned this laptop for about 2 months now and it has been absolutely fantastic. I did a ton of research before running into this bad boy, and notebookcheck left it's brother (the Gigabyte P25-CF3 w/ 16 GB ram and 256 GB SSD) out of the top 10 reporting that it was too expensive and had an...

Solid and Well-Rounded

Justin P., Newegg
18 February 2014
  • Summary: * If you put a little bit of effort into it, Windows 8 can actually be quite nice, even without a touchscreen. * When trying to play the game Rust, my laptop was using the integrated graphics by default.
  • Pros: * Extremely comfortable and responsive keyboard (with backlight) * Amazing hard drive storage capabilities (2 x mSATA and 1 x HDD) * Boots as fast as expected * Creative vent placement that seems to be rather effective * Creative and effective power management (you can right click any executable ...
  • Cons: * Updating to Windows 8.1 was a pain in the rear-end (you have to uninstall all video drivers prior to running the Windows 8.1 update)
