GIGABYTE M912 Convertible Tablet PC Netbook Review

18 March 2009
  • Excerpt: In my recent discussion about whether netbooks are already obsolete , I said that the segment needed a real game-changer, because it has become increasingly difficult to find the marketable advantage. With the GIGABYTE M912 netbook, we may have found a possible answer.

  • Conclusion: I think I would have preferred it to have been equipped with a lightweight flavour of Linux that would allow all sorts of software expansion at no extra cost and which would have probably boosted performance to very pleasing levels. This would also have had the advantage of reducing the cost of the device which, I feel is on for the high side of acceptable.

We've yet to encounter a perfect netbook as yet, as each netbook has its own significant pluses and minuses that makes us shy back from giving it the ultimate accolade. Gigabyte M912

21 December 2010

  • Pros: Expresscard-Slot, Touchscreen
  • Cons: mäßige Akkulaufzeit, Displaygelenk arretiert nicht sauber, winzige Tastatur, nicht angepasste Software, lauter Lüfter
